For whatever reason, a pubecent teenaged boy old enough to drive & have a job & middle aged woman doesn't even register as pedophilia in my brain...They didn;t even do the deed anyway.

Being a stupid parent should be a criminal offence. But seeing as the kid is a drop-out, maybe they should just ship his sorry ass to military school, where he'll have some real life guildies to run around with.

I can see it now. "Dad! it's my turn to play!"
"No, I am your father!"
"Oh yeah, well I'm older!"

You're wrong. I don't think the law in infallible, and I sure as hell don't think democracy works all the time. I'm probably more outspoken about how our government sucks more than anyone I know. However, I DO understand that most laws are there for a reason, and I DO think the rule of law, that noone is above the law no matter how important they are, or how minor their infraction, is something we as a society need. Seatbelt laws and busted taillight laws are there for a reason. Yeah, it seems stupid to pull someone over for having a tail light out, but if that law wasn't enforced, who honestly would pay the $30-40 to fix it as soon as they found out? While you might not think so, having no tail/break lights can be a major safety concern, especially on congested highways.

Yeah, soliciting minor laws seem stupid, but how easily could that 40-year old have abducted that kid? That law would hardly seem stupid if the 16-year old's body was found raped in a ditch somewhere.

Why is it that I rarely ever hear a good story related to WoW (besides that one a few days ago)?

While it certainly wasn't a nice thing to do, I don't think she should have been arrested. She committed no crime in Texas, let alone America, and her arrest can't be legal.
Shush, the day people are arrested for their stupidity is a day to be PRAISED! Hallelujah!

OT: Sick, sick, disgusting, sick. This is coming from a WoWer.

You do NOT stand in the way of love. Standing in the way of love is bad. It's wrong. It's badong.

I now stand for the opposite of badong: gnodab.

And I must say if the genrder roles where revesed there would be lynch mobs forming.
The age of consent was 17. he was 16. He was ONE YEAR too young.

LET THE BOY GET LAID PEOPLE!! THIS IS LIKE THE ONLY HOPE A 24-7 PLAYER HAS!!!

Sheesh. In my opinion, sending her to jail was wrong.

Did the kid get laid or not? I think that is the question, because he'd be able to say "Wow got me sex!"

In the UK a few years back we had a similar case this time the woman was 48 and he was 14 so it was a crime. The boy however, after having slept with the woman, described it as "every boys dream"

I kid you not this is the real picture of her

That changes everything. I'll stick to Night Elves.

World of Warcraft obviously dulled his brain like a Junkie and he is willing to go for anything as long as it doesn't interrupt his serious warcraft business.

I fear in the future people will forget about great men and women and just think of people like this

Well, Susan is right.. but hoe many tales of guys hooking up with thier friends moms.. or their girl friends. It is a bit sticky, that's for sure...

Seriously though. "Mom, can you drive me to the Motel 6 so I can meet up with this 42 yr old woman I met online" has got to be in the top 10 of stupid things to say that will not get you laid. Though he gets a A for honesty. The mom and dad should have driven him there and confronted the lady and maybe they could have avoided this whole thing. Deep down inside, I think the dad wanted the boy to get off and get his freak on.

Either way, this story is awesomely hilarious. I think I saw something like it on an episode of "The Guild" though
