One thing that is on my mind, is who was paying the subscription? If it was the parents then they could stop paying that with good cause, leaving the son to play other games. That psychologist and the parents both need a swift kick in the ass for making such a blind assumption.
Texas is on shaky ground with the charges they are pressing against Ms Price. Any lawyer worth their law degree will have that argued down to time served at the most. Only thing I have to say to her is, if the relationship is really worth meeting over, waiting two years won't kill you. Might have been worth waiting til they played through Cataclysm at least before they knew more whether it was worth the effort and expense.

I demand a picture of Lauri Price. Because when it's not online that's sometimes called a Cougar.
Edit: Found a picture.

Cougars go for college students or older. Otherwise it is called Sexual Predation. I can see genuine feelings and not just sexual happen between people of such diverse ages, but as I said earlier, if the feelings are true, it always is worth waiting.
It don't matter if the older person is male or female, something like this is just wrong.

Errrmmm... it seems kinda wrong that this happened...
Surely the laws for the place that the event happened should be the one that applies?
Seeing as none of it occurred in Texas...
*Yawn*
You do realize the solicitation and inticement happend in Texas, she wasn't being charged for statutory rape, because That was the event that didn't happen in the U.S.

I think the age differances are too extreme, but middle aged "cougar women" who chase much younger men, and even boys, are not as uncommon. The reverse of course being a MILF Hunter. :p

That said, I think she should get the book thrown at her. I'm fairly tolerant when it comes to teen on teen stuff (part of growing up and learning about life, I support things like distributing condoms in school) but I think a 40+ year old and a 16 year old is too great an age differance here, and I honestly think this should go beyond wrist slapping.

I'm sorry - I think we're ignoring the point here. A kid heavily addicted to WoW got laid - and by a MILF. Why is this kid not receiving epic high-fives!?

Seems kinda stupid though. Did she know he was 16?

Age of consent in Minnesota is 16.

The burning question everyone has wasn't answered: was the 42 year old hot?

EDIT - Ah a pic, but I don't trust pictures like that ever since I made a myspace account

Ouch. I think we should stick with the old 'trust nobody'. It's for the best in these situations.

Christ if I were this kid's parents I would just be happy that there was an actual woman that was agreeing to do the deed with him without an exchange of money involved. Looking at the poor bastard I'm astounded they didn't drive him there and high five him on his way out of the car.

...Gross. Also, it's not really the kids fault, he's surrounded by idiots. His parents allow him to play WoW almost constantly, they took it away, then his psychologist gave it back. Then there's the woman who... No, I won't even bother. Too much stupidity.

This is hilarious considering she did nothing legally wrong.

I gotta say I agree with your post, it makes a lot of sense.

Right and wrong is a fickle thing, it's never so black and white once you look at it. Laws need to be solid and quantifiable to nail criminals, if you leave them flexible they can be abused easily. No system is perfect for every circumstance.

By the sounds of it from the perspective of the kid, he lied about his age. Pretending to be an adult so he could chat-up some cougar online.
From the perspective of the chick, she thought it was perfectly legal to chat up some 20 year old. Then it turns out he was lying to her.
I'd guess the kid feels ashamed that he got this chick arrested and the chick pissed off that the kid lied.

She should pay more attention to Admiral Akbar imo.
"IT'S A TRAP!"

I think I'm going to be sick. Hold on a sec. *regurgitates every meal ever eaten ever*
Okay, yeah. Here's a question: How the hell is this kid paying for WoW? Can't his parents just cut him off?
