Read their blog, dudes. They carefuly considered the gameplay implications of each item right down to the fucking artwork before they released them. The Sandman is in there so the scout can stand up against heavier classes he normally wouldn't stand a chance against, the Force-a-nature is there to increase mobility and make hit-and-run tactics more useful, and the Bonk is for sneaking past sentries which make the Scout otherwise unplayable. It's a great update, and the origional threee weapons are all still popular and useful, so stop bitching.

Right, the new shotgun. Whats the point in removing double jump so you can use the shotgun for it insted and for less damage. No double jump = dead scout.
The baseball bat removes the double jump...

my biggest problem is the achievements to get the weapons. Some of them require one of the new weapons to get and some are practically impossible to get through natural gameplay. How in the hell are you supposed to get someone to stand still long enough to hit them with the new bat?
Try to get behind snipers. There's Scout Sandman taunt montages on Youtube showing some decent locations to get people, and decent techniques to get them easily.

You obviously don't play Team Fortress 2, considering the scout is invisible now.

The drink does nothing, you have to stand still for like 2 seconds and only lasts about 5. So you either take it in the thick of fire and get owned in .5 of a second or take before and get ~1 second of the effect when you need it. Pistol still owns it. New bat is only thing i would ever use, just to take out heavys, but i can do that easily by double jumping onto their head and owning them with the normal bat. Does nobody else see this or am i the only one here who knows how to play tf2?
I'm pretty sure you aren't and Valve made the game. They could completely cripple the scout and you know what? You'd have to deal with it. The Force of Nature pushes enemies back and if you're in the air it functions as a double jump. The energy drink isn't so you can rush into combat, but rather so you can avoid it. The new weapons aren't for you to go into the fray, they're for you to capture intelligence better.

Force-A-Nature doesn't remove double jump, the Sandman does. Force-A-Nature can be good, if you get right up to most classes they'll die there and then if you unload both shots. If the Sandman was rubbish then it wouldn't be banned from competitive play...and you don't need double jump to do well as a Scout.

Bonk!, however, is crap.

Bonk!, however, rocks.. VERY useful to get a cap in the second phase of Dustbowl as people set their sentry in a way that it can't cover the whole point so you can use bonk to get on the point and then cap.

Not to mention in 2fort where you can use it to get to the intel VERY easily
