Thank you, Captain Obvious!

When, in a game, did it tell you something that was already very clear to you, or when has a game told you something that was already very obvious to begin with?

My example (I chuckle every time this happens): In Fallout 3, Im using VATS to kill a Raider. I aim for the head, fire, and its a direct hit. The Raider's head explodes into chunks and his body falls limp to the ground. The game still feels inclined to give me the message "Raider's Head Crippled".

Well, no duh. His head sort of just erupted into chunks and flying brain matter, but thanks for filling me in, not sure I would have put that one together.

I know its just the game doing what its supposed to, but I still think its extremely funny every time. (Just the magnitude of the understatment "crippled" gets me every time.)

NOTE: This isnt me complaining about Fallout 3. I own it, so Im obviously not bashing it, just pointing out some of the un-intentional humor in the game.

in lost odyssey when the game reveals who the main bad guy is i already figured it out

On loading screens when it says 'press right trigger to fire' like 5 hours into the game.

In Resident Evil 5, when you get to around 2-4, and it just then tells you how to shoot. I'm not sure how they expected me to get that far without shooting.

The first time I saw him I was like: "he's the bad guy". They didn't do a good job hiding it.

I'm tempted to just put "Everything Snake says in a Metal Gear Solid game" and call it a day.

Metroid Prime is also up there, with those helpful tips on defeating bosses popping up only after you've figured it out.

Don't even get me started on when ever you get killed by a exploding car. Cars on fire may explode. NO SHIT!

Ever had the two combined? Grenade pops over, you avoid it and the car blows up.

That was the one thing I hated about COD 2. For some reason, the timers were screwed up. One time I was killed by a grenade that was on the ground for fifteen seconds.
