To be fair, something like that is intentional - did the fact that every other character thus far was shown to be either in your party, good, or dead? Plus, he was on the front cover... again a bit of a giveaway!

if im honest, i was hoping it was...

On rainbow six vegas 2 when you're like half way through the game and it tells you to press R1 to take cover.
i was just like "thanks for that, i hadn't figured that one out."
although on the other hand, i did manage to get through the whole game about 4 times before i realised there was a sprint
