I tried uploading my video early this morning, but it never gave me a confirmation page. Did you guys get it?

I tried and didn't get a confirmation page either, in fact it just seemed to freeze up. I tried again from the beginning and this time it took me to the confirmation page without me having selected a film for upload first so I'm really confused. Did it work or not?

It takes a LONG time to upload. Believe me. Ive a super-fast broadband connection, my film was only 95meg and it took about 15 minutes before the confirmation page appeared.

Just leave the page open, dont touch it, walk off and so something else, and come back in 30 minutes.

If you've already done that, apologies. :) But it is a slow process that you need patience for.

but after working for 3 weeks on my animation,
Hey, another animator! Good luck to ya man, I spent about the same amount of time working on my animation.
And you, Jim! I was taken by surprise because i didnt know the Escapist even DID these film festivals, i always wondered how the video contributers got their jobs. So i had to cram in creating all my backgrounds, characters, script and soundtrack in the three weeks.

Did you have as a hectic time as me? :)

I think a bunch of us were expecting this to happen in November like last year. I happened to be watching a Loading Ready Run video when I noticed that the Film Fest was back on a month early. So I know Alex and I scrambled, but I think what we did deliver was good considering there was no budget!

Is there anyway to confirm once an entry has been submitted? Or to find out exactly whether or not it has been uploaded? And also, if there's a way to edit the details once it's in there? Just curious because I always tend to panic wondering whether or not it went through...
Just saying...
Me and my friends worked hard on this entry, so I really hope you guys will enjoy it! I know we did.

15 minutes is nothing steverivers, mine took about 4 hours. Our entry was a little rushed like a lot of people seem to be saying, short on time and most people I know are either busy working or off at Uni. Hopefully everyone enjoys the characters and everything because I assure you we can do bigger and better, we were just a little rushed, literally had to get the whole thing shot and edited in like two days (not including the time it took to think of an idea and write it).

It's all gone through but I'm worried I sent it twice, although one might not have a video attached. Hope this doesn't cause confusion as I'd hate to not get submitted.

Just for your paranoid folks. You should get the following message when your video is done uploading.

"Thank you! Your video has been submitted! Once the site staff have approved your video, it will appear in our video gallery."

Yeah, I was definitely not expecting it till later. Honestly I'm surprised we were able to find a day for filming when we were all off work with our crazy schedules! Well, okay, I had to call out...

Heh, I hope my submission made it in as well. Upload problems and what not, ended up having to compress the video to 16mb to get it in...

Yeah, pre-production was what really ate up all my time, designing backgrounds, characters, creating the music and finding sound effects, once I actually got into the animating things went quite smoothly though.

I'm still depressed that the Pokemon guys didn't take the deal last year.
I hope they try again this year.
I wanted to see more of Jesse and James!

The two of them, real Freaky.
I don't believe they are :( seems like there were communication problems between them and The Escapist (according to Jared Blount, the director). Anyway, the deadline is now past. Good luck everyone, and may The Escapist hopefully pick up several great new shows for this coming year!

I think you guys should have a second and third place prize as well. I mean something really good like second place gets a full copy of Adobe Creative Suite, and third place a JVC 80gig video camera or something like that. Something worth the trouble, and that may help the contenders place first next year!

EDIT: Rock 'n Roll, email confirmation after I sent in the 300px image. I'm 94% psyched, 6% terrified.
Did everyone get a confirmation email? Or just some people? Cause I didn't, and as far as I know everything went through fine (no errors or anything). And I'm pretty sure I submitted before Annexis. Hmm.

They really need to get more organised about this stuff. Making everyone wait around anxiously just to see if the videos they've worked on for weeks even went through properly is just cruel.

When I emailed them my image I asked if they could email me back a confirmation, so I'm guessing that evoked the pleasurable confirmation email.

Either that or I just emailed them on a pleasent day.

Is there any word on what time the gallery will be up tomorrow?

I'm assuming the correct response is "when it's done," but I was wondering if the staff had set a hard time to open the gallery to the public.

I believe last year it happened around... 12pm maybe?
