I'm sure there are other people who make great stencil art but everywhere I show my work someone has to say "Stencil art is just coping Banksy" or something like that. It's difficult without someone mentioning him like he is the king of the world.

Also I have tried the usual graffiti, sparying to wall but am not very skilled on that but still trying.

Yeah man its tough. I started doing graff about 2 years ago. Spraying is still very difficult for me. I'm definitely no Kwest [http://media.photobucket.com/image/kwest/ralphindajon/kwest.jpg] (who's pretty much the king of Toronto graffiti for those of you unfamiliar with him). I started out in graffiti working on letters so I could do pieces. I found that I don't like the concept anymore of doing letters. Letters are your graffiti identity and when you're just putting up your name, it stops being a movement to beautify decaying urban landscapes and becomes a dick-waving competition of whose name is in more places. I stopped doing graffiti in the sense of any kind of tagging, or throwing or letters of any kind. I just paint animals and plants now. I find it not only comes across as more "me" but its also one thing I can do to avoid the pretentious dick-waving and stick with the concept of urban spaces being seen as canvases.

These are hilarious by the way. Good textures on the foreground. I can already see ideas at play in the photos. Good work.

That's awesome! I had a friend who dabbled in this so I know that that must have been hard to do. Do you have any others ones you can post?
Also on the society tangent, this reminded me of someone who stenciled an 'infamous' advert onto the ground outside a phone booth. That was odd.

Fantastic work. I've always admired stencil-makers for their ability to see shape and contrast.
