I mean, yeah, the entire Mario series could technically be written off as a bad LSD trip, but this drives it up to 12.
Super Blue Balls indeed. That is the saddest ending ever,just from the sheer middle fingerness of it. "Well done Mario! You saved the Princess,now she can live happily ever after with Blue the transforming prince dog. Have a nice day."

It's actually a nice lesson, you don't always get what you want by doing the right thing, but do it anyway because it makes the world a better place.

I gotta say, while I love all of movie-bob's stuff in terms of the reviews on Fridays and the generic subjects for the Big Picture, that whole "XXXX Are weird" with the slow motion voice he does is really really annoying.

i actually like this take on the mario universe and i wish some of the aspects of this film were take into the future games like the female Toad and the princess having a guy already. it would be nice to know there are other kingdoms besides the mushroom kingdom.
Movie Bob, Movie Bob, Movie Bob...now you can't go mentioning "THAT" movie without going into details about it that give Mario fans like us reasons on why we remember that movie so....passionately.
Setting aside the horrible slaughter of the japanese language at the beginning, this was a really good episode.
Due to playing and loving Mario games as a little kid I found it hilarious to find out that he's not/was not a plumber from the beginning, but a clerk. This is probably why I love "The Big Picture", always something new weird popping up to keep you coming back for more.
Keep it up, more "X ARE WEIRD" episodes please!

Which suggests that this movie may have had more of an impact on the world than expected.
Super Mario 64 style? Looks like he's beating him Super Smash Bros. style to me.
Anyway, fun little glimpse into the catacombs of early nerd culture. I once whined about it not really being a big picture very often, but eh, things like this are interesting nonetheless. Still, it's odd to use "And that's the big picture" after an episode like this.

Being that i only have vague memories of both the american Mario cartoon and movie when it first came out i really need to see this i don't care how much the seems like a let down, this is one of those video game gems that probably shouldn't be missed.

I haven't seen paranoia agent, but Paprika is one of the trippest animation i have ever seen (fantastic planet being number one, watch if you dare) and definitely needed a decent amount of shrooms to pull that offhurricanejbb said:
Ah story of my life...the Princess is always in another castle no matter how hard I bust my butt to save them. I suppose that's the real world lesson ending, short/poor dudes who do all work on the front lines end up as unsung heroes while the guy who's rich and has everything plows the girl while doing very little other than being rich/good looking. The disney endings rarely pan out in real life.
