Still better than Wonder Woman's premature cancelation problems!

Supporting cast or no supporting cast? That IS the question!
Won't make it. People will go 'huh, wait, isn't this Rorschach?'

"Yes, Mistress" and "Sexy King Triton" made my day. Bob, you have a lot of wit and I take my hat off to you.

Pretty much THIS.

There's been no animated series, no movie, no starring roles in any of the DCU Animated films, and one Live-Action show almost no one remembers.

As one of the DCU's main heroes, can the Fastest Man Alive get SOMETHING now please?

[small]With Mirror Master as the villain, kthnxbai. [/small]
I almost agree with you 100%, but I would have to say Trickster for the villain. Maybe he could have dual villains?

Batman is pretty much the only interesting hero in DCs primary stable though! The second most interesting would be Wonder Woman, but Superman is too good at everything boring, The flash runs fast boring, Aquaman is Aquaman, boring.

If they had to give Batman a break, I would much rather watch a Wonderwoman movie.
I love it when people who have never read a DC comic in their life declare DC characters boring.

Superman is an alien among us, raised as one of us but never really one of us. Torn between two worlds. He's a journalist, and has been since the days that actually meant something. Boring?

Flash is a police scientist. You know... CSI stuff. People love CSI. He lives between ticks of the clock, in a world too slow for him. He has a rogue's gallery of villains with a curious sense of honor. Boring?

Aquaman is a king. He rules three-quarters of the world. He commands legions. He has a heritage older than recorded civilization. Boring?

I'm sick of Batman, I'm tired of Iron-Man, I'm bored of Superman, I loathe another moment with Thor, I do not look forward to another film about or featuring Captain America. Yes, I am saying what people may think I am saying: I am sick of the current superhero depiction. Part of me thinks The Avengers was an accidental mistake that only worked due to the Joss Whedon and the cast of actors, that without that it should of been terrible since it was so prone to be bad. However, due to the success of The Avengers (a worthy success since it actually was good) film producers are going to start pumping out the same super-heroes over and over again the same way they pump out action hero films and driving-films, except with less variation. Will lesser known super heroes get attention? I severely doubt it. Will new super heroes be made? No. I fear a future of cinema where the super-hero genre is akin to comic books: Where DC and Marvel regurgitate the same tired heroes and same tired stories with reboots after reboot, akin to the "binge and purge" manner of eating. Give me something new. Please.

There is an animated movie of Batman Beyond with the Joker if I'm not mistaken.
Batman Beyond was cool, I'd like it if they gave us back Terry's Batman and applied a few more modern twists and actually used to setting's potential.
I guess I should of qualified it by saying a nonanimated movie. The Batman Beyond is like the one alternative batman setting/character they could tap reasonably well and expect mass appeal too. Not like Gaslight Batman or ya know the dozens of other batmans.
They Almost Did a Batman Beyond Movie in 2002 but they shelved the idea for Goyer/Nolan's Batman. Maybe they'll revisit this idea again.

I have to agree with Bob on the there is too much Batman. I love Bats but come on there are so many other characters and there are Heroes who are detective and are good at infiltrating and intimidation; The Question, Martian Manhunter and even the Flash(He's got a brain in there). The Only reason you don't see them much is the focus for any detective story seems to be Batman is the "Worlds Greatest" everyone else isn't good enough to highlight. Just keep Writing him and other characters into molds that needs to be broken.

It would definitely make it a stand out movie. It could follow a plot like the JLU episode with the Flash Museum. Start it with the basic assumption you know who the flash is, a little about his bad guys, and have some of them plot his downfall at the start. Skip the origin story- or make it the intro. It would probably make a better animated movie than live action one though.

EDIT: Even if you don't, for the main part, the names give them away- Trickster, Mirror Mastr, Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Gorilla Grodd, Professor Zoom &etc. It wouldn't be too hard to fill in the gaps as it goes.

Bob... how about you take a break from talking about Batman. You don't like him and that is fine. But you keep bringing him up even if there is no game or live-action movie out with him atm. How about you let me enjoy Batman for another 20 years mkay ?

Yes, because there's nothing like Doctor Freeze that ice-themed villain and Captain Boomerang to really convince non-comic fans that this movie is cool and not at all just generic superhero stuff!

...Seriously, I always thought the Rogues were sort of stupid.

Also, why do people like Batman? Because they like the idea that they COULD be Batman, with just enough training and gadgets. Sadly, Flash will suffer from the same problems as Superman: He's too powerful.

I still can't believe we don't have a Wonder Woman movie.
We have had NINE theatrically released Batman movies. NINE. We've had SIX Superman movies. We've had a terrible Green Lantern flick. Constantine managed it. DC even gave us Jonah Hex. We got Swamp Thing. We've had a friggin' STEEL movie. I'm going to pretend that awful Catwoman film never happened though...

Even looking at Marvel, they have gambled on nearly everything. We have live-action Iron Man. Spider-man. Wolverine. X-men galore. Ghost Rider. Fantastic Four. Daredevil. Elektra. Thor. Captain America. The Hulk. The Black Widow. Hawkeye. Nick Fury. Howard the Duck. Blade. The Punisher. Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man are on the horizon.

People say DC's heroes suck, but they don't. DC just wastes them. Where is our Flash movie? Blue Beetle? Lobo? Booster Gold? Green Arrow? Hawkman? Aquaman? Martian Manhunter? Cyborg? Teen Titans? Black Canary? Atom? Suicide Squad? Huntress? Zatanna? Animal Man? Dr. Fate? Captain Marvel/Shazam?

Quick question: Do you know who Batman is? Due to writers compensating for putting the guy in a batsuit on a team with demigods, Batman has become the most feared and ruthless hero of DC's entire roster. His power is being the goddamn Batman.
That is kind of the point of Batman: He's the bad guy. He's the guy with one rule (that has remarkable flexibility) and everything else is fair game. While the rest of them have honor, loyalty, codes of conduct and all those things holding their titan-like powers back, his guile is his power, and is restrained only by that one rule. It doesn't just make him a dangerous human, it give him the ability to go toe-to-toe with every other member of the JLA.

And as for Joker, I nominate Alan Tudyk. After his turn in Dollhouse, I'd love to see what the hell he'd do with the Clown Prince of Crime.

Here's one immediate, easy way to make Batman new again: Adam West him the fuck up. Make him an archaic, ridiculous symbol of oldschool machismo, bring back the sexy 60s-looking ladies to fawn over and/or catwoman him, give him one of his sillier opponents to fight as a B-plot with waves of implausible goons and make everything as goofy as possible. That sounds like several gallons of fun in my book. Hell, I'll just bet that Jon Hamm would jump at the chance to be Bruce Wayne for pennies on the dollar.
Isn't that sort of what the Batman: The Brave and The Bold animated series basically went for? And didn't it feature almost the entire DC comics roster as guest stars by the end? And isn't the original target demographic for that show rapidly approaching their adolescence? This might be the right time for Batman to get just a little campy again.

Actually Btaman is the fantasy of being the brooding dark anti-hero-ish guy who is better then everyone else because he's smarter. Lots of people like to pretend that they are dark and tragic and super smart. Not many people are. Interestingly enough I like my Batman a bit less dark because it gets really stupid really fast when they try to be super dark.

This post gave me an awesome idea:

BATGIRL TV SHOW.

Think about it: we know Barbara, in her early days, largely acted independantly from the Dynamic Duo, even stealing case files from her dad to do her own, low-level investigations. You could seriously do a live-action Batgirl show centered around this premise, with her fighting minor or poorly-known Bat villains: Killer Moth, Calendar Man, Black Spider, Anarky, Gearhead, Humpty Dumpty...

A heavy focus on Barbara's personal and school life, a la Spiderman, as well as her relationship with her family, a la Blue Beetle, and you have the makings of a great show! Not to mention more exposure for my favorite comic character, Babs...
