I wouldnt mind playing this game though it looks like it would have a persistent world means what for the player is a bit ambigious.

I mean like would I have to play through the entire city in one sitting or what? We'll probably never know...

Still though it's a bit of a different take on the whole zombie apocaluyspe game then the ones we have now more of a focus on surving then escaping.

Left for dead is a great game its high on my charts of favorite games but its not scary its gorrey. This game gives off a very tense atmosphere zombies aren't being thrown at you left and right i like the parts that had no zombies in this game giving this really tense vibe that something would pop out and in left for dead you cant go oh shit didn't see that coming when music starts playing and a whole horde come lol :p

Looked good, but suffered from Random Zombie placement. Now L4D had stupid places, but they were all spread out. In this, all the zombies come out of the back of a van.

After watching the video and reading this thread, I have a question which makes my brain go itchy scratchy.
Would this information ever surface if Left 4 Dead wasn't as successful or did not exist at all?

Looks dated, but I'd play this over any zombie game on the market. This is the Holy Grail of zombie games, ladies and gentlemen... and we will never have it. It would be awesome if they could release it as open source or better yet give it to another developer to work on. One can only hope.

And also: "What the hell?! You, you BASTARDS! NOOOOOO!"

Probably not as the zombie game industry was referenced by the Hon. Ken Levine.

EDIT: Did anyone notice a zombie was killed by getting hit by a grenade? Not caught in the blast, but actually hit by one? Silly.

MEGA EDIT: The screeching in between zombie attacks is from BioShock. I'm damned sure. Do I get a cookie?

Well, why not have both? Bioshock was good (being an old SS fan here), L4D 1 & 2 are good if repetitive. This game would have done something different than L4D...think of it as being more like the original Dawn Of The Dead, and L4D more like the remake. I would like to see faster movement on the player's part, and maybe a tad more zombies, but it's workable. The idea of actually having a base to work from, and missions that affect the game world in ways you can see, are very appealing.

For those with too much time on their hands, and a hankering for older-school video games, look up something called Dead Rush. It was another cancelled project that looked at least passingly interesting.

Oh, in response to a previous poster who commented on a lack of zombie children...the original Dawn Of The Dead, there was one notable scene with a pair of zombie kids in it. There's also the school scene in Resident Evil: Apocalypse. In video games, not so much, unless you count the zombie kids in Dead Frontier.

Except for how slow you move, that game looked amazing. You wouldn't have to be able to move as fast as you could in Left 4 Dead, but a little faster than that slow limp would of been nice. I wish that game came out.

It had potential but the painfully long walk times and cheesy dialog...why is it no one had the idea to run instead of walking?

Wow, that looks like a lot of fun. I didn't really like L4D, but I think I would get this in a heart beat

I would kill for that game. Left4Dead is amazing, but it's all run and gun. I've always wanted a zombie game that was more about gathering resources and building a post-apocalyptic fortress. I'd give up Bioshock and both Left4Dead games for someone to make this.

And if they ever do hopefully the characters can move faster than turtles. And find a shotgun that can kill in less than three shots... but besides that it looks amazing.

Wow. Judging by all these comments 2K made a pretty big mistake. This is why you take this stuff out to the public. I did like Bioshock(maybe not as much as the next guy), but this would have been a great game. If they kept it openworld it would have been amazing. They could prolly still make this, just would have to hear all the L4D fans whine about it being a ripoff.

Edit: I have actually been wondering about a game just like this that appears to have been cancelled. Anyone hear of Dead Island? It is suppose to be similar to this, just on an island and better graphics. I might make a topic on this.
