2 Hours had passed inside the walls of Whiterun.. it was time to move on.

Sten
After meeting Amren and collecting the case Sten made his way to the city gates.
Just outside the gates were the same two wagons and same two Nords sat upon them.
"Good to see you two" Sten said with a hearty smile
"I'll be riding with you this time.. got some thing i need protecting."
He then placed the case under the seat where it was safe. After staring blankly at the text for several minutes Sten turned around and wandered over to a crumbling wall, he sat there for a while and waited.. staring into Skyrims tundra.

Anoke
This is not the time..
Anoke headed back towards the carts following Stens every move. When Sten opened the gate and passed through Anoke wandered over to behind the Forge.

Drahff
With an rater bland past two hours in Whiterun he was glad to see the back of it. He made his way quietly to the gate.. on the way distressing about the following journey with the Orc to come.

Please make your way to the carts!

Upon seeing Sten arrive back at the wagons, Raksada left the stables and made his way over. "I hope you found more info on our destination." He said, "I hate not knowing what we are likely to run into,"

With that, Raksada hopped back into the cart that had all his gear, checked to make sure it was all intact, and settled into a comfortable position.

Swims'Faster watched as Sten left by the front gate. After picking up his weapons and swinging the new hammer around his shoulders, he made for the wagon he saw Raksada standing near. Pulling out the remaining gold given him by Sten, he threw it towards the Khajiit.

"Here iss your firsst hundred gold, Rakssada. I expect the sssearch hasss begun?"

Finishing his conversation with Raksada, he swung himself up into the first wagon and set the warhammer under his seat and reinforced spear into the crook of his elbow.

Raksada caught the bag of gold easily. "Indeed it has." He said, grinning, "I left instructions with an associate here in town to leave a message in Dawnstar if he finds any info." He didn't mention that Quickkills would likely seek them out, if she was half as good as Swims'Faster was hinting at.

Sten
While turning towards the Kahjiit with a smug smile "I have all the information that i need... It is just a matter of sharing it at the right time"
Now returning to view the scenery
"All you need to know right now is that we are venturing towards Dawnstar and many riches await."
Feeling somewhat harsh from his last comment and not wanting to put any of his employees out of interest.
"I'm riding with you this time, we still have a few hours ride ahead of us.. maybe i'll share what you'd like to know on the trip."

Zavier checked the time. The group would be leaving soon, it was probably a good time to head back to the wagon. He finished his drink then grabbed his bag and left the quite crowded inn.

Arriving at the wagons Zavier saw that Sten, Raksada and Swims-Faster were already seated. He hoisted himself into the currently unoccupied wagon. "So, are we going straight to the Pale from here?" He asked Sten.

Realizing it had been two hours since their arrival into Whiterun, Faulgor began heading for the wagons he knew would be waiting. When he arrived he noticed a few of the group, along with his employer, were already mingling amongst one another in the wagons. He approached the wagon in which Sten had boarded, rummaged through one of his pockets for a moment before producing the amethyst and silver ring and presenting it in his large palm with his hand outstretched to the man. "I've never been one to pat myself on the back, but I must say this is most definitely one of my better pieces of work. It's fairly plain - I figured the intricacies would be left up to you, should you decide it need any."

"That will have to do." Raksada responded to Sten. "Still, It's easier to prepare for what we will face if we know what we are going to be up against. Needless to say, there will be traps, locked doors, and undead guardians. After all, from what I've heard of the Dwemer, they didn't leave their riches unguarded."

He settled back in to await the debarkation of the expedition.

"The Dwemer were a sstrange racsse. If we get lucky, the only thing blocking our way will be Ssspider Centurionsss. More likely, they'll be at least a dozen Ssspiderss, ssix to ten Sspheress, and if we get unlucky enough, a Centurion or two. Not to mention the numerous cave-ins, traps, and puzzlesss they are ssso entrancssed with. Consssidering how many of uss..." He paused for a moment, glancing at Sten for a moment before continuing, "Ssten hired for thiss job, perhapss it iss time for him to reveal the detailsss," Again he paused, but this time he looked at Sten as he spoke, "Including where we are going... and what we are going after. Of course, asss sssoon asss we all regroup isss probably preferable to our employer."

Jarek had spent a little too long in the town, when he arrived at the wagons it looked like everyone else was already seated, he let out a sigh, he wasn't looking forward to another ride, I just want to get into these ruins, do the job and get out.

Anoke
Returning from behind the forge he noticed Drahff talking to the female blacksmith. Giving his a firm tap on the back he pointed to the gate letting out the remark "We're late Nord."

Both heaved open the city gates an saw the adventurers and wagons waiting for them as they climbed aboard Sten was speaking.

Sten
"Orismer craftsmanship at its finest" He said with a large grin as his slid his newly jewel-embedded ring onto his finger.
"It will take me some time to decide on its enchantment"
Now feeling somewhat bombarded with questions Sten felt the need to answer.. he needed to be accompanied on this journey and he knew this group had the potential that he sought after.
Addressing each question in the order they were asked.
"Yes straight to the Pale, depending on the time we hopefully will enter the dwermer ruins before a heavy snowfall"
Now turning to both the 'beasts' of the trip, he answers the Kahjiit and Argonian
"Do not worry, it's entrance has already been scouted and i have already organised for a base camp to be set up and waiting for us.. with it will be an old adviser of mine before we enter he will know of all the dangers we will face."
Sten leans forwards and places his hand on the case beneath him and a huge grin appears upon his face..
"I can tell you now.. the only thing of importance in there that we will find is riches"

It was somewhat hard to read his facial expression.. did this Redguard really know what he was doing? Or was he just driven by potential wealth?

With a great crack of the whip..
The destination draws closer

Curious. Raksada thought to himself, If he already scouted out the entrance, why didn't they venture any deeper? Ah hell, probably not my place to ask, and if there's as much gold to be gained here as Sten is hinting at, I suppose I'll be properly compensated.

Knowing that the land between Whiterun and Dawnstar was pretty much uninhabited, he stayed much more alert than on the trip from Rifton to Whiterun. "Stay alert, there's nothing but wilderness, wild animals, and bandits between here and Dawnstar. It wouldn't do to have this venture cut short before it got properly underway." Raksada said, making sure he could quickly reach his bow if it were necessary.

Very good, Redguard, you are adept at dodging questionss you wissh to not ansswer. I fear for your competence if you cannot answer what liess in sstore for uss. Very bad omen, that. Though, it wass your inn that brought me closser to finding Quickkillsss than I have in years.

Swims'Faster sat back in his seat at the crack of the whip, unsatisfied with the answers given him. He was wary of any job where he was unable to know the lay of the land beforehand. This job was changing for the worse as time progressed, first the bandits which Sten was conveniently absent for, and now he was sidestepping questions he was asked. His reasons for trusting the Redguard were thinning considerably.

Zavier settled down across from Jarek as the wagons took off once more. Sten already had people at the ruins, eh? That only further asserted his suspicious. Something was up, this was no simple dungeon-delving assignment. Sten was certainly holding something back. However, he obviously thought that whatever was down in that ruin was worth all the trouble and gold he was going through, and they were going to be well compensated for the effort. There would be trouble ahead, considerable trouble, but Zavier was quite an expert in avoiding trouble.

The wagons rolled to the the destination making perfect time before any bad weather could hit.. Luckily this half of the journey was much smoother than the last.

Upon reaching the encampment two Mages were waiting in the cold.

Are these the guys Sten was talking about? Aedan thought. He looked around, anxiously scanning the skies.
"Dagon's plums, I hope to never see another sodding dragon as long as I live."

Aedan got up from where he had been sitting next to a campfire, stowing the book he had been reading back in his bag- Dwarves - The Lost Race of Tamriel, Volume II: Weapons, Armor and Machines. He'd had a feeling he might need it. Sten hadn't said as much, but really, what Dwemer ruin didn't feature monsters, machines and death traps?

Name:Aedan Breanainn (Bree-nayn)
Race: Breton
Age: 22
Appearance: 6 foot 1 inch(1.85m). His build is quite lanky and slim, almost wiry. Prominent cheekbones and pronounced, square jaw. He has deep, thoughtful blue eyes and usually sports a little stubble. His hairstyle is the same as the man at the far right of the second row in this image: http://images.uesp.net/8/8f/SR-race-Breton.jpg. His hair is black, though.
Equipment: His staff and an enchanted steel dagger as a back-up. The staff has the ability to create a Greater Ward, and the dagger has a powerful Absorb Health effect, but it has a fairly limited number of charges.
Abilities: Destruction(Expert), Alteration(Master), Conjuration(Adept), Restoration(Adept) .
Class: Pure Mage
Main Class: Mage
Backstory: Aedan Breanainn is the son of a minor Breton noble in High Rock. Aedan's father is a competent mage, so it was perhaps natural that his child would inherit the gift. Aedan's childhood was-comfortable, let's say, but not exactly idyllic. The family estates were located next to Orsinium, and there was always tension in that area. The threat of war has a way of making sure that money is spent on weaponry and soldiers, not luxuries. Aedan was skilled in the ways of magic, and rapidly it became clear to his father that his son had the potential to become a great magician one day. To that end, Aedan was sent to the College of Winterhold at the age of 13, where he received the best magical education available outside of the Summerset Isles. Academia was not his calling, however- what right-minded young man wants to spend his days reading musty old tomes? And that was after you'd dealt with that asshole of a librarian at the College. Aedan wanted adventure, and you sure as hell were not going to find that at Winterhold. So, to that end, Aedan took his gear and headed to Solitude, with a mind to potentially hiring on with the Legion, or maybe somebody would have something that needed doing? At the least, it was warmer than Winterhold, and the locals were slightly less hostile about mages.
Your character: Usually fairly quiet unless spoken to directly. Fairly easy-going and laid back unless provoked, he's then usually quick to respond, first with barbed comments, then with fireballs. It takes a lot to get him to that stage though. Due to his somewhat sheltered upbringing at the College, he is somewhat idealistic and naive about the world. He also has not yet seen much combat, although he is strong and skilled in the magical arts.

"Those bastards at the college should do more research into their theories before they start saying that the dragons are disappearing!" Jean said as he poked at the fire. The dragon had killed three of them. Try as he might though, Jean hadn't been able to heal the wounds the others had suffered. The fires were too strong to be to get to in time.

Jean had survived purely by casting a Greater Ward to block its attacks and get to an area where it could not reach him whilst blasting ice spells at it. Once it had realised it would get nowhere, it flew off. It was probably somewhere close but he didn't wish to know if it was. Just the thought of it being nearby was a thought he would rather not have.

"I hope the people Sten's brought with him are good. We've just lost three battle mages to a single dragon and now we've going into a Dwemer ruin. Even when I was studying the Dwemer with Calcelmo, I'd dare not go in Nchuand-Zel without the entire guard with me. Markarth's good but the actual things are just too dangerous to casually explore. Who were they trying to protect their cities from that they'd need to make machines that would kill anything in sight?"

<spoiler=Character Sheet>Name: Jean Louie Martin
Race: Breton
Age: 27
Appearance: A green eyed, clean shaven blond with a height of 5'8" and shoulder length hair. He wears mage robes that hide his skinny frame.
Equipment: Staff of Flames and two Elven Daggers. 1 set of Adept Robes of Destruction.
Abilities: Destruction (Adept), Restoration (Master), Alchemy(Expert), Alteration
Class: Healer
Main Class: Mage
Backstory: A native of High Rock, Jean has studied magic since the age of four when he read his first spell tome. Since then, he has travelled across the borders into Skyrim to learn more from the Mage's College in Winterhold. Upon arriving there, he spent many years training his skills until he felt confident enough to travel the holds selling his potions and poisons and provide service to the injured (for a price of course).
Your character: Jean is respects the magical arts and is quick to defend them against anybody who would dare slander them. Besides that, he is friendly and willing to help so long as he gains from the experience.
Profession: Travelling healer

Aedan glared at Jean. "Well, now that you've said that, it's a pretty safe bet we're going to find out!"

He took a deep breath, held it then exhaled. He had never seen death like this before. Oh sure, he'd had to fight the occasional wild animal, and the last time he'd explored Dwemer ruins he'd had to kill Falmer, but this was different. Those mages had been people. They might even have been friends. Now they were just a blackened mess on the tundra. He shivered.

OK. We are not going to lose anyone else here. Sten seems like quite the canny explorer. He'd only want to hire the best for this job. And there's not going to be any dragons underground, right?

"Sorry about that. I just...I'm a little jumpy right now. Suppose that's only natural, what with a sodding great lizard appearing out of nowhere. At least you sort of know what to expect with Dwemer ruins; spiders, traps, Falmer and some nice artifacts. And I'd bet that these people Sten's hired on are more than capable of handling a few spiders and Falmer. Not sure about the artifacts, though. Those dwarven bowls can kill you if you're not careful." he said with deadpan delivery on the latter two.

Aedan withdrew a bottle of spiced wine from his pack, took a deep swig, then offered the bottle to Jean.

Sten
Just before the wagon pulled to a complete stop Sten pushed passed the other adventurers and jumped from the back..
"Aedan, Jean! How good it is to see you.. what the hell happened here?"
A quick look around it was easily observable that things weren't exactly going to plan, the huts were collapsed and on fire and a corpse was clearly visible in its heavily charcoaled form.
Oh shit! Expendable people never the less... by the gods how will i explain this

Turning to the two wagons hastily with a surprisingly calm look on his face..
"Looks like we will have to head in sooner than i'd hoped! Unless i've picked up a dragonborn? No? We'll hurry the hell up."

He moved over to grab his case pulling it towards him with a glint in his eye and smile upon his face.. He addressed the others.

"I'd told you i'd have people waiting. These are the two finest mages around and very old freinds of mine.. do treat them with respect."

With that said, he heads towards the scaffolding to enter the ruins.. muttering
"Damn, bridge has been damaged..."

Looks like a dragon hit this encampment hard.Raksada thought, grabbing his gear and exiting the wagon, This could prove to be a VERY interesting exploration.

Nodding to the mages as he belted his sword to it's customary place, he quickly followed after Sten, keeping an eye out for anything unfriendly that might make itself known.
