Shame if they really quit. They were a good source of entertainment.
Reading the message they really are full of themselves, but i still like the good work they did.
Don't really understand all the hate that flows to them.

Man, these guys are no writers are they? Stick to hacking, you little pubes, because you can't pen a meaningful statement to save your damn lives.

Pretty much because their stance on the world was "FUCK THE ESTABLISHMENT AND EVERYONE WHO LIVES IN IT...this is what you want right guise? Cuz we're totally your heroes"

Edit: Let me fix that bad grammar right there.....

Genuine question, because I haven't bothered to keep up with this. What good work?

They know they couldn't hide forever from the multiple hacker groups and the government. They are trying to save face, simple as that.
Indeed. Just what I was gonna write when I saw their bullshit message.
Happy news! Hope they'll still get caught.
I read that the leader has already been arrested, I'm surprised it hasn't come up in the news section.

I think everyone who works with computers is sad to see them go. I hope the anti-sec movement continues through independent hackers. Perhaps eventually we'll be guaranteed a free and secure internet forever. I hate living with the knowledge that our governments want nothing more than to to control the flow of information.

Well, that's the end of an annoyance. Wonder who's gonna be next to start broadly hacking shit...

LOL I like how they're trying to be badass about running away with their tail tucked between their legs. Pussies got scared when U.S/U.K and every angry hacker network in the world went after them.

As for the group's leader, he sounds like he has a superiority complex that he decided to head a group of amateur script kitties.

I'm kinda sad actually, other hacker groups were so close to releases more info about lulzsec and some of the anon assholes.

Anon networks and lulzsec stand (stood) for nothing... not freedom of internet, freedom from corporate/government control of information or anything noble.... just a bunch sad sad shut ins that never leave mom's basement.

May they never be remembered except in history textbooks as "that group that was infamous among techies/gamers for 2 seconds".

Well that was an inspiring swan song, wasn't it? I had no idea that believing in myself was an option until Lulzsec told me so.

Wow, what pretentious douches. How can they say they hope they had a microscopic impact when they basically destroyed peoples lives by compromising their bank/credit info and leading to identity thefts?

Whatever, I'm just glad to know they're gone. Too bad they quit now before someone got mad enough to kill them.

Please say they took Anon with them.

Anyway, yeah, glad they left. Citibank is still pissed at their antics, as are there users.
They can't take Anon with them. The only way Anon's going away is with censorship or removal of the internet.
I know, but they joined forces, so I was hoping they would both go. One can always hope
despite what they said, they didn't really "join forces". Probably some influential AnonOps members or something. AnonOps and other related Anonymous-like organizations are only branches of the overarching umbrella that is Anonymous.

Alright folks, let's put this puppy to bed:

The sole reason I'm not a member of the (alarmingly) growing masses of "Anti-Sec" (Note: People, better names, PLEASE) hackers is because while there are many powerful people that would love nothing more then to control information, the set-up of the internet will never allow that to happen unless it is taken down for good. Now how many powerful people would really want to be responsible for the downfall of modern society in many countries? We live in an age where everything is discovered, announced, and saturated within minutes of occurrence. Public outcry and participation in governmental action is the only real action that needs to be taken, outright attacks on installations "for the good of freedom" almost poops out the foot it eats, there IS a great deal of evil inherent in any system, but it can all be flushed out if we all work for a better tomorrow instead of letting others do it while we boot up another game/movie/song.

Now if you'll excuse me, my soapbox is on fire.

Because standing up for "the people" means compromising user information and probably ruining lives. Right?

Good lord these guys look pretentious. Their message is nothing more than them trying to make themselves look heroic. They are not.

Lulzsec is simply scared an trying to apologize. It isn't working.
