btw why do we horde players get stuck with a racist murderous prick as faction leader?
Well, us Alliance have been with one since WotLK. Wrynn is such a douche.
true that, I hate the alliance purely for lore reasons especially Wrynn. Thrall has got to be one of the most reasonable leaders in the story, he's worked so hard to get both factions work together for the common good. When the betrayal of Varimathras and the Forsaken occured at the wrath gate, rather than act rationally, Wrynn declared war on the horde because his friend Fordragon died. He was willing to risk total annihilation at the hands of Arthas just for his own petty revenge.

/sigh.

I'm getting all nostalgic over WoW lately. So many memories in so many zones...

Farewell, Barrens!
Farewell, Orgrimmar!
Farewell, Thousand Needles!
You deserved it, Stormwind!

The list goes on...

Too bad Grom isn't still around to set his son straight, or take the position himself. he may have been a bit of a hot head but he knew to do the right thing.

I find it kind of funny that there is a ad for WOW:Cataclysm on a video about WOW:Cataclysm.

Even though I've only been playing for about 6 months I'm gonna miss these places. I got to 80 just in time it seems! Just logged on to find Thunder Bluff under attack by an Elemental army! Damn I love the way they are implementing the changes!

Blizz is constantly working on content for WoW, it helps make your 15 dollars a month feel worth it.

Deathwing should say that.

I dunno, but I blame Wrynn for Garrosh's rise to Warchief. First, you had Wrynn declare war on the Horde in Wrath. Then you have Thrall leaving the throne to help heal the sundered Azeroth. Who does he find himself as a replacement: a war hero, one the orcs love and will follow into battle. Under the circumstances, I understand Thrall's choice. Garrosh is mean, ruthless and a fearsome enemy the Alliance will think twice about crossing.m As cool as Bloodhoof and Voljin are they are not best leaders in times of war.

You see, this is a real example of shit hitting the fan. When Deathwing wants everything destroyed, he destroys everything with his own two hands (or claws... or legs... whatever) Unlike Arthas who just sends out a bunch of minions to do his work and fail at it. Anywho, I'll be picking this back up during Christmas time. Rolling me a Worgen druid =D

So I wasn't the only one that felt that way about Ashzara. I remember going there questing and just getting caught up in mournful fall and all the ruins. It felt like a place of immense history. I also going to miss Hilsbard Foothills. I liked questing there because of its remoteness. Southshore seemed like a quaint little town. Quiet, small, and tight nit, like some little town you pass by on the road to somewhere else. I liked those towns as I grew up in one. Now its going to be destroyed, touched by the new plague. I've got a lot respect and love for the Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren, but I hate Forsaken.

Did Wyrnn come to his senses after the Battle of Undercity? Or are they still 'at war'?

Hehe, I can't wait to see how this effects Shamus's Lets Play of WoW.

As for the game itself, well I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that essentially every quest has been changed in some way. Sounds silly, but holy crap thats insane.
I'm pretty sure he mentioned in the LoTR Let's Play that he's got a few months lead time on these articles.

In other words, he's probably already done whatever he's going to write about.

The Forsaken are badass, but lore-wise yeah, they're all a bunch of evil dicks,
Somewhat understandably, after all they were murdered, then resurrected without their will and forced to murder their own people, sometimes their own families and friends, then released from that power, and still dead,
Oh, also their former race now hates and hunts them as monsters,
I'd be a bit cranky and malicious too =P
But as a long-time Horde player i've never been to Southshore unless I was killing people,
By your Southshore description you clearly have not been playing for too long, as there used to be giant pvp wars in Hilsbrad in WoW's earlier days,
I'll personally be glad to be chucking bombs or whatever at it and cackling maniacly

Garrosh is the original Emo kid of WoW,
I swear to God I hate that douchebag with a passion

I wish more MMO's have the balls to pull this off.

Burn everything and make it better? Sounds more like a developers wet dream than anything else. I wish them luck.

Hatters gonna hat.
They're bringing millinery in as a new profession? I thought hats would come under tailoring!

Yeah, WOW isn't for everyone, but it does seem to be for 11 million people, and I don't want to play the 'popular=good' card while Bieber,Cowell and Morgan exist, but damn, Blizzard do look after their world and put a fair bit into it.

(OK, after seeing Cataclysm videos, I'm guessing 'Blizzard look after their world' maybe wasn't the ideal phrase! :D )

Damn, pretty substantial ratio of suspended posters on this thread.

Yeah, I went to Auberdine today to pay my final respects. Remember leveling all my Alliance alts there regardless of race because there were so many damn quests there. Auberdine, you will be missed

So the instant the Alliance has a leader which dares to stand up to the Horde, he's a douche? Pah! The Horde have had this coming for a long, long time. It's not just the Wrath Gate incident, where the Horde's idiocy cost the Alliance one of its greatest hero, but plenty of other things as well. Orcs invading Ashenvale and Forsaken invading Hillsbrad for example.

Then when you also consider Varians father, his mentor, his homeland and his people were all killed by Orcs in Warcraft 1-2, and now his best friend has just been killed by the Horde... Yeah, he's got more than enough reason to be distrustful.
