The End of the World (of Warcraft) is Nigh

It makes me think of actually playing the game, since everything will be new (more or less) to everyone and I wouldn't feel any more lost than anyone else.
On the other hand, I will have missed 6 years of the game as it used to be and I'd get the feeling of someone standing there constantly repeating an inside joke I'll never understand.

I just started a month ago! Having a real barrel of fish.* It's never too late to start. Or not. If you're not into MMOs, don't let me push you into it, but if you like that style, then it really is the best out there.

*I'm like 80% sure that's not a real expression <.<

What if you don't have cataclysm? will the world stay normal to them?

The patch is for everyone who plays WoW. The Cataclysm expansion only unlocks the new races and content above level 80.

They've been rolling it out in pieces. The last three patches have all been part of Cataclysm. The talent, user interface changes, and now the shattering of the world. All before the actual release date. Bit nuts eh?

As for the thread at hand, World of Warcraft used to be a good game, pre-BC. I had such fond memories of the old world, and now it was ignored by BC, completely forgotten by WotLK, and now DESTROYED by Cata. World of Warcraft, you have destroyed my only fond memories of my five year stay, and I will not be returning, but thanks nontheless for the memories. I'm serious, like the video games, we'll always have the memories of what made the game great.

You can't be serious. The game has gotten exponentially better with every expansion. I've been playing since launch and I'm floored by how much better the questing experience is in Cataclysm.
