I remember playing Age of Empires on my cousins PC back in 97-98 and playing firstly Wolfstein 3D and then Starcraft at a friend's house. First game I played at my family's PC was Road Rage... nice game. Definately, AoE was my first proper game, I remember my parents getting nervous by the fact that I was "killing humans", they realized it was ok when I told them that was totally illogical.

The Humungous games like Pajama Sam and Spy Fox
Yeah i know they are for kids but they were freakin hilarious
Plus i was about 5 when i first played them
Now Humungous is owned by Atari and guess what the graphics for the new games are worse than the games released back in 1996
Good job atari good job

I have to say that for me it's a tie between Command and Conqure Red Alert and Diablo. I mean I must have beaten Diablo about twenty times and still kept playing and C & C Red was just plain fun.

Silpheed, Bouncing Babies, Sokuban.

I wasted AT LEAST a full year playing that game.. I played it for like 5 years but in that 5 years I literally put a full 365 days (maybe a little more) of playtime in.
I missed out on so much pootie it's not even funny.
BUT... at least I had fun.

Starflight. I'd read about it in ye olde Computer Gaming Monthly (RIP) and I didn't even have a computer that was yet capable of playing it (mine only had 128k RAM, needed a massive 640k!) but a friend of mine did, and so I played at his place, or rented time at the local library computer. Wasteland is a close second.

Though the very first game that I bought and played for the PC was Ancient Art of War. I remember I could have picked that up or Ultima III: Exodus. I would later go on to play Ultima IV and the rest, which was another phenomenal title.

Either Prince of Persia or Lemmings. Both where on the first computer I had, which actually was on loan from my father. I played the shit out of Lemmings, but couldn't complete any level on PoP and cheated extensively.

The first Splinter Cell. I loved it so much, I couldn't wait to come home from school and play it.
