some sort of zodiac demo disk, perhaps cold shadow (daffy duck as a ninja). but really, the first pc game i remember playing of note is deus ex, man that sorta left all following games with a "not deus ex" taste.

System God damn Shock 2. Played it when I was I think 6 and got through the tutorial by myself before my parents said I was too young to play it.

Went back when I was 14 to play it and I died. It scarred the shit outta me and I now think it was best old PC game I ever played.

If anyone has a download link for it that can work on a windows 7, I will love you forever.

- Age of Empires 2 (I wasn't old enough when Age of Empires 1 was out so I never got around to play it)
- Twinsen Odyssey: Little Big Adventure 2
- Banjo Kazooie and Tooie (those aren't REALLY old, but they were my bread and butter when I was young)
- Dungeon Keeper 1 (not that I was conscious enough to know what to do, I just slapped the tiny little Imps for the lols)
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 1
- Claw (Cats and Pirates, what's not to love?)

I think chess is a pretty badass game.

Seriously though I will go with Diablo, Mario is Missing, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Questron for the Commodore 64 was the first real classic that I owned and played to death with my brothers

although I do remember playing choplifter on the school's Apple II's (how's that for old!)
Holy shit I remember Choplifter! That game was awesome, and I miss my old Apple II, now I feel old.

I need a drink now.

Duke Nukem 3D was the first thing I did.
I was 3 years old- luckily most things went right over my head, but it was fun to shoot the crap out of baddies.

Hm hm... i remember having a few smaller games before playing "LHX: Attack Chopper" (only game i ever knew where you could lock a heat-seeking missile onto a camel and blow it up *g*) and "Stunts" in the early nineties.

But i remember totally getting hooked and playing a LOT of the golden classics. The Lucasarts games, X-Com: Enemy Unknown (Still one of my favourite games EVER), SimCity, Prince of Persia, Ultima, and so many more.

Ah well, yeah, while i played a few older games i pretty much missed the great first wave of gaming. But i was RIGHT THERE in the GOLDEN AGE. Early 90'ies... awesome stuff.

Excluding Educational softwares on my primary school's RM Nimbus 186 [Aaaaah, Through the Dragon's Eye!] The first game I remember playing for any length of time was Jetpack on the ZX Spectrum. Damn, someone said they felt old for playing Flashback! It was years before I got an Amiga.

EDIT - Oh snap! Didn't read the OP properly!

Earliest PC gaming memories didn't come 'til much later on, I suppose I'd have to go with Star Trek - A Final Unity.
