The first game I ever played a DOS text adventure game, I forget the name of it but it was what got me interested in games in the first place as it was quite fun, even though you had to type everything

But the one that sunk its hooks into me and made me an avid gamer is the first Age of Empires game, to this day RTS games are still my all time favourite type of game
It was closely followed by Super Mario 64 which sealed the gaming bond forever

Back in 2003 I got a game called medal of honor: Allied assault.
I was 13 so it was my first T game...
I played for 6 hours a day for 3 years until I started playing CS.

Super Mario Bros 3.

Easily.

The entire NES catalogue(or the portion that I had) made me a gamer, really. I enjoyed playing them all more than any other hobby.

Starcraft. It was the first game I played and my first love. I was so young, I couldn't finish the campaign without cheats, but it made me a gamer from my first experience.

Well for me, the first game that ever 'blew me away' enough that I wanted to do more than just play casually and wanted to seriously get into games was still Halo: Combat evolved.
I loved the action, the cinematic story telling and the general atmosphere. Seriously, it's one of those games that I just loved and couldn't get enough of.
That game made me love PC gaming (strange huh).
But the first game that I can say made me a gamer was definitely Metal Gear Solid for the ps1. Even now I absolutely LOVE that game. Also it came at the time of my life when I started to pay attention to the story in games and when I stopped being an utter tard at playing them and what a candidate it is!
However, the game that got me into RPG gaming wasn't a FF like with most people it was The Legend of Dragoon. Possibly the most underrated RPG ever!

I would have to say Doom was the game that broke me in. I dont even remember how old I was when my father and brother introduced it to me. But man I am glad they did.

Halo: CE on the PC :p

First played it on a friends Xbox with the 'classic' massive controllers, but my parents refused to buy an Xbox so I had to settle with it on the PC *sigh*

But a big plus was that when I went to get it from PC World they had a million and one Master Chief action figures that were on sale with the game, which was AWESOME!

The two that really got me into gaming were Duke Nukem 1 (yes, the platformer) and Wolfenstein 3D. The game that kind of moved me towards a more chilled-out style of gaming that I like these days is EverQuest. I now kind of flit back and forth between the shooters and the RPGs.

Oh god, I am a schizophrenic gamer.

Well Metal Gear Solid was my Gateway and the deal sealer. If I had never played that game, I would have never have taken up Gaming as I have now.

Calumon: Shame he spends most of his time on Forums rather than Gaming now! ^^

Jack: Just trying to save money...
So, Jack is like me nowadays, huh?
*Shakes Jack's hand*
Welcome to the club. Calumon is welcome to stay if he so chooses.

OT: I believe it was Pokemon Red. I may have started on Yellow, but Red made me the gamer I am today.
Ah, such fond memories I have of playing my Red. Shame I lost it...

Say what you want, but TFC > TF2.

I grew up on this game when my cousin showed it to me. This is the game that made me into a pc gamer.
