Well Bush cant run between the tackles and hes trying too hard to be a brian westbrook, which he never will. Still though, its been one game into this season. You have your picks and i have mine. I guess we will see whose right week 17.
Indeed. Believe me, I'd love for the Pack to make it to the Super Bowl. My gut just doesn't see that happening. When a so-called "sleeper" team becomes everyone's pick, I usually go away from that. I actually don't have picks, I just don't think the Packers will make as much noise as is now expected of them. 8-8 sounds about right.

That was last year Bassatti, quit living in the past. Its a whole new season. You guys barely won last night. Talk to me week 15 when you guys are 6-8.
Where I come from, "brah", dems fightin' words >:D
Anyone up for starting an Escapist 2009 Super Bowl Thread, and bet/etc. on who is gonna win? It's not a big surprise, though. Everyone knows them Iron City Boys are gonna take what is ours >:D
While I am a Bears fan from Chicago, I have to say, Steelers are gonna win. They have a towel. A TOWEL!!!!!!!!

Also, Vikings. Their only flaw last year was no QB. As much as I hate him, Favre is a decent QB.
The Vikes are choke artists. Always have been, always will be. As a Minnesotan, I tried my best to put my faith in them, but they have done nothing but let me down.
But they have the purple jesus! This is their year, I swear it!

I don't know how much you know about the Vikings, but they have tried to bring in already established superstar players before. For example: They traded 5 players and 6 draft picks to get Herschel Walker from the Cowboys, yet he never got over 1,000 yards rushing in a season, and Dallas went on to dominate the league.

My guess is Favre is going to get hurt a couple games into the season and the team will be stuck with T-Jack as the back up. Either that, or the Vike's O-line will suck and cause Favre's numbers to be horrible.

I'm not a betting man, but I'd almost be willing to put a wager on that.

What was the last cover-star on Madden injured?
It was Brett Favre, remember? I guess he wasn't injured, but that whole "comeback" thing didn't go to well as far as I can remember.
But since he was not technically injured could it be considered he broke the curse?

In all honesty I don't believe in curses. I just see this all as a coincidence.

Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian. Those 3 alone will carry the O.

1) Why isn't it called American Rugby?

2) You play in a professional sport league, you have matches almost every week. You have huge guys charging towards you. What are the chances that you will be injured?

A more accurate version of this would to find someone who plays professional sports regularly who has not been injured once

Oh god i was watching this game last night and i thought the same thing, if i were Fitzgeralnd i wouldnt play this season. They should just start putting retired players on the cover. Keane you got a football team? Cos i remember i took you down with my lakers some time back.
I don't really watch football, though I guess I'm a Niners guy by default. Also the Lakers are garbage.
Woo to SF!
This curse is a strange phenomenon. I wonder if any of the other sports suffer from something similar (FIFA, NBA, etc).
Another thing that's funny is that whilst reading the paper the other day, some economists use Madden as a gauge for how the video game industry is doing. You can't imagine how angry I was to read that.

I would say go Eagles, but McNabb got hurt... AGAIN. So now we have the guy that hasn't played as a QB in a regular season game in a couple of years. Yikes.

If today was any indicator, the Eagles don't even need Mcnabb to score. Their defense and punt returner does it all. :p

That's true. Now that I think about it, their halfback is their number one WR anyway. =P

Yeah right. You seem to have a lot of fate in The Patriots xD
Packers are shit, and won't get close. Patriots will get close, but get their chance nabbed away.
The pack is my sleeper team, no one else in the NFC comes cloes. Vikings are going to break down like Favre tends to do at the end of the season, who else is there Bears? Broncos? All the south teams are a mess. Also as for the Pats, theyre not my fav but Bradys got something to prove and they always have a super under-rated defense.
People need to realize that the Vikes don't ONLY have Favre. They have the number 1 rusher and the number 1 rushing defense. Favre was the last piece in the puzzle.

Exactly, really they just need the defense to force a punt, and let Deshaun Jackson run it all the way back.
