Babies. I fucking hate babies. What the appeal is behind those little weird gibbled up ugly looking things is beyond me. Plus 90% of the time they're covered in their own slobber or feces and they constantly make noise. I can understand liking your OWN baby to some extent, but babies in general? I just don't get it.

The attitude in the UK towards terrorism
Okay, I'll bite. What do you mean here?

Overrated things, hmm. I can't in good conscience jump on the iPad bandwagon because I only know 1 person who has one, and no one else seems bothered about it. I'll go with The Beatles. I'm not really a fan. Some of their stuff is alright but they are not near Godlike as some people I've met believe.
Things such as the new laws put in place that infringe on the liberties we have and yet these laws were nowhere to be found when we were being bombed by the IRA.

and also that its caused quite a lot of alienation to Muslims to boot, hell I can remember being on the tube in London a while back and some stupid moron shouting "what the fuck is she doing on the tube dressed like that? she'll probably blow us up" all because she was wearing a Burqa, but the womans responce was quite funny, she asked the person if they needed to be reminded of when to breathe in and out due to the fact they have such a small mind, which got a lot of laughs.

I can probably reword it but i couldn't think of another way of putting it.

Texting, Facebook, and Twitter.
I mean, really? Why do I care if you just brushed your teeth?
I also find texting rather time wasting, as when I see people texting, it's almost always people they would never actually talk to face to face.
It just doesn't make sense to me, but then again, I'm the one who's always behind a computer screen, so I guess I'm not one to talk.

I find Animal Collective to be extremely overrated - repetitive, high-pitched electronic squealing is not good music. I also found District 9 to be overrated; sure, it's a good science fiction movie, but when I see people claiming it's "one of the best movies I've ever seen" (on this website, mind you), I just have to shake my head and resist the temptation to quote them and tell them that they really need to watch more movies.

Most of the things I like are overrated. Seems as if people need to play 'all-or-nothing' with things.

Atheism. Look at me! I have no beliefs or meaning in my life! I'm so enlightened! Now I'm off to preach my enlightened non-beliefs at people who just want to be left the fuck alone! I'm so enlightened! Not like all those ignorant barbarians who adhere to their paths to self improvement, and have a reason to be decent people for whom morality is actually justified.

Ugh...

Somewhat ironically, the most self-righteous and holier-than-thou people I have met have met have been atheists. which is infuriating and little bit disgusting.
Not all atheists are like that, I hope you know.
I ma one myself, and I respect other people's religion and beliefs, even if I don't agree with them/

Everything that is popular and loved by the majority is clearly overrated because I am super edgy and only love really obscure stuff that nobody else likes or has heard of.

Halo, Bioshock, 90% of pop music, Twilight, Apple products, etc.

I was really disappointed by Bioshock, all the hyping it even after it's release so I decide to buy it when it goes on offer and it turns out the game is incredibly average.

The Aristocrats joke. After being hyped up for it, I finally heard it and it just wasn't funny, no matter which disgusting iteration it was told in.

The most overrated animal in the world is clearly the Panda.
It is an overwieght slow moving poorly adapted animal that barely reproduces and would not in the slightest be missed by the ecosystem if it died out, and yet we go to extreme lengths to keep it as a species alive because we find it 'cute' and letting millions of other species that actually have purpose die in the meantime.

All modern Apple products, HD TV, 3D TV and Capitalism.

I'll also throw in Photoshop while I'm at it.

Avatar - Reviews were saying it's awesome, so did some of my friends who watched it on the release day. So I gathered bunch of my friends (including those who saw it already, because 'it was so awesome they want to see it again'). We go to the IMAX, the film starts, and...

I received a generic story told over million times, once again showing humans as a complete bastards with no good sides (actually I rooted for Colonel Miles just because of his awesomeness, and I thought Navi were mostly douchebag hippies). Pandora was created without any spark of greatness to me, Just a generic world with mutated version of human animals and plants. Magic the Gathering had much better concepts of another worlds IMO. 3D effects were nice, but I was more impressed by the effect of holographic screens in human base, or dirt on the helicopter windshield, rather than Pandora itself.

We go out of the Theater, and suddenly I hear ALL of my friends talking how awesome it was, best movie ever and all that stuff. What the hell? I missed something? I guess it's just not a film form me, but I find it weird, that so many people swoon about generic story in a nice 3D package.

-------------

From games territory: Dragon Age. Weak story is already inexcusable for an AAA title RPG. Combat is way to easy even on Hard (two mages constantly freezing enemies with cone of cold + one tank to soak most of the damage = instant win without a sweat), world is not very interesting, and characters except Morrigan, Zevran and maybe Allistair are extremely meh. I regret buying it at full price.

A decent post... in a thread about this topic?! You have astounded me once again Vrex.
