Avatar - Reviews were saying it's awesome, so did some of my friends who watched it on the release day. So I gathered bunch of my friends (including those who saw it already, because 'it was so awesome they want to see it again'). We go to the IMAX, the film starts, and...
I received a generic story told over million times, once again showing humans as a complete bastards with no good sides (actually I rooted for Colonel Miles just because of his awesomeness, and I thought Navi were mostly douchebag hippies). Pandora was created without any spark of greatness to me, Just a generic world with mutated version of human animals and plants. Magic the Gathering had much better concepts of another worlds IMO. 3D effects were nice, but I was more impressed by the effect of holographic screens in human base, or dirt on the helicopter windshield, rather than Pandora itself.
We go out of the Theater, and suddenly I hear ALL of my friends talking how awesome it was, best movie ever and all that stuff. What the hell? I missed something? I guess it's just not a film form me, but I find it weird, that so many people swoon about generic story in a nice 3D package.

From games territory: Dragon Age. Weak story is already inexcusable for an AAA title RPG. Combat is way to easy even on Hard (two mages constantly freezing enemies with cone of cold + one tank to soak most of the damage = instant win without a sweat), world is not very interesting, and characters except Morrigan, Zevran and maybe Allistair are extremely meh. I regret buying it at full price.
