To the post above: It actually is about what you believe, that's narcissism.

Woah, the Escapist record so far! Not a particularly good test though since it can't differentiate between someone who erroneously believes they are better than others and someone who actually is better, and it would be dead easy to get a low score by deliberately answering the "modest" answers. Quite seriously I don't believe I have the disorder despite scoring high enough since I get along well with most people, certainly not bad enough it's a disorder >.>22

I may have issues.
Or not.
Probably not.
Because I am f*ckin awesome.
But so are YOU.
Yes YOU, the person reading this.
You made the deliberate choice to spend your leisure time on the internet not consuming porn or flinging insults at others like a crazy monkey flings his poo around, no, you made the decision to be a part of the escapist community and that makes you awesome.
And don't you forget that.![]()
lol. This is why Doctor is regarded as the number one aspirational career for the narcissist. Much like CEO is the favourite of the psychopath or programmer the favourite of the high functional autistic.PhiMed said:No, it's not. Narcissism is excessive self-love.Clowndoe said:I answered honestly:

To the post above: It actually is about what you believe, that's narcissism.
From the article:
Not everyone with high self-esteem is a narcissist. Some positive views of the self may be harmless and in fact quite justified.
Which is why celebrities tend to score higher than others. Most actual celebrities (i.e. not reality television, not porn stars) have become celebrities through some accomplishment or another. Achievement should breed positive views of the self. Some people believe it's the other way around, but I would've scored much lower on this test when I was struggling to get into medical school than I do now, when I've completed medical school, completed residency, and started a fellowship. Now, if someone is an adult, living in their parents' basement, borderline illiterate, and has absolutely no aspirations in life, but they still have a high opinion of themselves, then that could accurately be described as demonstrably narcissistic.
Also, on physical attractiveness. I don't think it's narcissistic to think you're hot if people are constantly trying to get into your pants. I think that's just realism. If people alternatively refer to you as "Stinky McGhee", "Prairie Dog Face", and "Jabba", but you think you're hot, then that's narcissism.
