The New Shiny Escapist

To me it feels like one of those ad sites that you stumble upon when your searching for another site, like when you enter the URL with one letter off and you get directed to a website offering to sell you domain name, with lots of crap google links at the bottom.

OT: I'm not a fan. And it's slow as fuck to boot. No sidebar for the the common columns I like either. I'm sure that if you wanted to find certain things it may be easier now that you added all sorts of new navigation, but I usually just came for the news. And now.... well, it's ugly and it makes me sad to look at.

I know nothing anyone says will get it changed back. I don't know why you don't simply offer different styles to get rid of this annoying ass color scheme though.

Also, why the hell is all in the center of the screen? All this open air could be replaced by content that isn't surrounded by two open bars on either side. At least before it had something on the side... Now it's just in the center of the screen for no good reason.

Edit: I see you took the time to hide all the videos that originally brought me to this site. That is just... well, it's stupid.

Here is a little something I made up to fix the colour scheme abit.

I added a slight gradient on the sides, as to frame the content, and reduce eye strain from all the white. And darkened the light blue text to a darker shade.

All the colours exist in the dark blue strip at the top.

Also moved the right end of the "Quotes" bar so it ligned up with the "Log Out Button".

Thoughts community?

I raike. The current one is too...bright. Ignoring the boxes and feeds, that colour scheme you edited is much better.

Ive noticed that everything is significantly slower to load, especially videos.
complaints about the color are stupid in my opinion, but slowdowns suck

Heh. I thought I would be the only one to be horrified by it. Sorry, but it's too white which hurts my eyes and makes it difficult to read the text, I won't be staying that long anymore if it stays like this. Could we at least have an option to change it to yellow again?

Edit: Just tried other parts of the escapist and it does load a bit slower on my com as well.

I dont like it. It is far less streamlined than the original, it doesnt advertise site content as well, and it loads slower than molasses. I may be able to get used to the look, begrudgingly, but the slow response times will never grow on me.

Over all I miss the original.

Please change it back this new design sucks. I like the old design infinitely better. The colors are awful and make me feel like I'm staring into the sun. It's goorish, ugly, and looks like a shitty facebook ripoff. The forums take longer to load than a moving company staffed entirely by paraplegics. Please, please go back to the former design. It was quick, efficient and was like a streamlined butterfly. It was a design I enjoyed looking at, and was proud to call my favorite website. Now it just looks like shit.

Bleh, as with new Facebook and new Youtube i guess i'll grow accustomed to it after a while. I'll admit that i too miss the sidebar though. I'm not one to rag on anyone's hard work so i guess we'll just have to see how it all goes. One should never expect such massive change to be well-recieved at first though xD

On a completely un-related note: Why is the site's loading time so damn long now? >.>

I like how the thread list is set up, an extra column, and multiple types of parameters. But I feel it is a bit bland. Too white, and the text is a bit more boring. That is how I feel about it.

I like it, when the Publishers Club members got early access to it I wasn't sure about at first. After trying it out for the last few days I've got used to it and I love it now.

Personally, I think that the font doesn't look very fitting at all. Also, where's the sidebar with the newest video of all the contributors? That was very useful=(. Other than that, I think it's quite an improvement.
