Eight years they worked on this.
I played until the castle before calling it quits for the night. Decided not to buy any maps this time. If I can't remember where ALL the treasures are, so be it.
I noticed late into the village that the game's default brightness is much too high. I also forgot that some of the cutscenes are out of sync when playing at 60 frames.
This is the first time I'm playing it that I know what happened before. First played through RE1 in 2016, RE2 in 2019 and RE3 in 2020. But RE4 in like 2005.

Just finished playing the texture mod. The one thing I noticed that could have been done better were Hunnigan's eyes. Creepy. Otherwise, the mod was incredibly faithful to the original textures, which are terribly blurry/pixelated in HD. The HD textures Capcom included in the remaster are far more revisionist and don't even cover all of the game. Awesome work.
They both look like they could be "alternates" from that Mandela Catalogue creepypasta.

From the demo Sword & Fairy 7, a Chinese rpg, that I'd installed on a whim. I have no clue wtf is going on, cuz it's all in Chinese, but it does look pretty swanky.
Is it my imagination or does the "face made of porcelain" artistic style run through a lot of Chinese games? A world of swords, sorcery and absolutely no stubble?
Yeah, the Chinese do seem to love that porcelain doll look for anything. Also, you know, the flowy & brighly colored robes, elaborate headdresses and meticulously groomed (facial) hairstyles. Seems to be their go-to aesthetic for wushu and/or romance of the three kingdoms related stuff. Not just in games, you see it in manhua a lot too. Or in movies i.e. Hero, House of Flying Daggers.
Subtitles in games are so bad, almost without exception. Imagine reading this while the action is happening.
One slap for making it so tiny.
Two slaps for only using a single line.
Three slaps for putting it right near the edge of the screen instead of farther up where you don't have to move your eyes so much.

What the...I've never seen subtitles so tiny and generally awful looking in a game, and GoW's were originally pretty bad (ie smallish).
