Considering how little the D-pad is used in gaming anymore, I would say analog sticks are more important and the 360's analog stick position and feel wins out over the PS version any day of the week. I also prefer 360's triggers. However, the PS3 has a better battery system and they figured out a way to do it while still keeping the rumble feature.s69-5 said:Flameshield activated:rockytheboxer said:I didn't say it was perfect, the D-pad definitely needs work. But it is still the best controller ever designed, in my opinion.Void(null) said:Unless you need a working D-Pad, in which case there is massive room for improvement.rockytheboxer said:I could do without the avatars and whatnot, but Xbox live is still where the best online gaming is for consoles. Plus, the Xbox 360's controller is, in my opinion, the best one ever designed.
The best controller to date IMO is the PS2 controller. Sony should not have changed the L2/ R2 buttons for PS3. If they had left them alone, it would be no contest.
The second best controller is the SNES controller.
XBox 360 controller is an improvement on the original Xbox (fish in a barrel) but is by no means the best ever. The D-Pad disqualifies it.
360's triggers and analog sticks + Saturn D-pad + PS3 battery = perfect controller in my opinion.
