Most of it's there for flavor, to make the setting feel alive. In Fallout for example, what kind of nuclear wasteland would it be if there wasn't useless, destroyed debris strewn everywhere?viranimus said:4/5ths of the junk you can pick up in any Bethesda RPG. No I dont want a set of flatware. No I do not like being forced to kill town guards all because of an errant mouse click.
I agree. I think the reason is to make shit tons of cash off of keys.A Weary Exile said:Unusual hats in Team Fortress 2. Just...they're so god-damned ugly and only ever worn by attention whores.
What does it say about the playerbase that such sales allowed the game to go Free to Play?Aprilgold said:I agree. I think the reason is to make shit tons of cash off of keys.A Weary Exile said:Unusual hats in Team Fortress 2. Just...they're so god-damned ugly and only ever worn by attention whores.
oooo I know the answer!Plurralbles said:WHY does Vaan exist?
While that's true when you can just run in and kill stuff if you are trying for 100% completion on the "don't get detected" missions the bombs and poison darts are invaluable.C F said:Throwing knives were awesome in the first game.5-0 said:First Assassin's Creed: Throwing knives. Oh good, a long range weapon.
Assassin's Creed 2: Gun. Oh good, another long range weapon. And I can only carry six of them.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: Crossbow. Wow, a long range weapon, and I get twenty? I'LL NEVER USE THE GUN OR THROWING KNIVES AGAIN!
Once you're in Ezio-land, the Hidden Gun and the crossbow make throwing knives a bit useless, so they counterbalanced it with the ability to take down up to three foes at once. Quite useful sometimes, actually. Of course, the entirety of Ezio's repertoire just grew more redundant as time progressed.
I mean, come on.
Poison dart launcher?
Just: why? To draw attention to a guard that's nowhere near you and buy time? That stopped being necessary around the time Ezio got access combo-kill streaks. Now it's just a fancy toy. Speaking of which: how about the bombs added in Revelations?
The game would be so much more satisfying if all you carried was a hidden blade and maybe one melee weapon to allay suspicion.
The 'S Creed series is still fun, but hopefully 3 will remember its roots a bit better.
A serious one would be Sapping. A non-serious (yet serious anyway) would be for the rebels to have, and to be destroyed by my cavalry causing a route which then routes the next mob and so on...Jandau said:Total War games - Peasants
Daedra hearts can be obtained during Marons Dagon's quest. you get 4 and then 2 every few days. Ebony can be found in the Ork camp in the Reach. (just south east of Windhelm) There are 22 veins.TrilbyWill said:daedra hearts are fucking expensive. so are ebony ingots. and i've never seen an ebony vein.
They're garrison soldiers and useful in purging bandits when your real soldiers are fighting to claim another crown for your growing collection.Jandau said:wooty said:To keep the enemy pinned and occupied while you volley arrows into them, human barricades.Lil_Rimmy said:BODY SHIELD!
Why else? Why waste army slots and production time on peasants when you could be spending it on decent troops? A half decent economy is easy to get going and then you're no longer limited by cash, you are limited by production time and the number of units you can fit into an army.Blunderboy said:Soaking up arrows so they don't have as many/any to use on your decent troops.
Aha, i must say i love your explanation! xD made me laugh. But your probably right, i never had any luck with the Laser Pistol or Rifle, even with VATS. The Plasma rifle is pretty crap in VATS, but i usually tend to use it whilst exploring, Its one shot kill on most roaming mutantsHal10k said:The laser weapons have hitscan projectiles. They hit a target immediately, whether it's right in front of you or just at the edge of your visibility range. Plasma weapons, by contrast, move as quickly as a drunk obese man trying to remember which hotel room he's staying in. Lasers are bloody useless in VATS, but they make a decent choice for mid to long range engagements if you have no other option. Gauss rifle sort of invalidated that, though, but at least laser weapons are easy to repair.latiasracer said:The laser pistol and laser rifle from Fallout 3.
Y U NO DO ANY DAMAGE?
I spent fifteen minutes thinking up this response.
You're not the only one. Hi.Astoria said:Fallout: New Vegas, why did they decide to include different types of ammo. I can't be the only one who went 'fuck it' and just used normal rounds.
To be fair, I can think of one for this: Authenticity.SoranMBane said:The worst for me is probably the .32 and Chinese pistols in Fallout 3. The pistol you start out with does more damage and even looks better aesthetically, so why would I ever use them?
You mean you've never had the pleasure of going Deathclaw hunting with your own hand-loaded custom ammo.FalloutJack said:You're not the only one. It's for people who want to try that kind of complexity out, like Hardcore mode.
I mean I went AROUND the Deathclaw areas for half the game because I didn't have any REAL firepower against 'em for a while.PBMcNair said:You mean you've never had the pleasure of going Deathclaw hunting with your own hand-loaded custom ammo.FalloutJack said:You're not the only one. Also there are 40mm incendiary grenades, they're always fun.
This makes me think of a different Why. If that's what the flip stance button is for, why don't they have eye-candy for girl gamers? Just curious.Soxafloppin said:Mortal Kombats "Flip stance button". press L2 (I think) and you character will turn around so your either looking at his front or his back, has no effect on gameplay at all.
Now that I think about it, its to decide if you want to look at Kitanas Boobs or ass.
Thats why you use alternate ammo. Or Psycho. Lots of Psycho.FalloutJack said:I mean I went AROUND the Deathclaw areas for half the game because I didn't have any REAL firepower against 'em for a while.PBMcNair said:You mean you've never had the pleasure of going Deathclaw hunting with your own hand-loaded custom ammo.FalloutJack said:You're not the only one.
