The worst game of this generation.

The worst game to me was Braid. It was overpriced at $15, over hyped and just no fun. WHy everyone loved Mario meets Prince of Persia, I'll never know. Also, Fallout 3 is close. I loved the originals but 3 was just a shit FPS.

Just kidding, I've never gotten the chance to play it. However, the worst game so far this generation would have to be Metroid Other M. Played it? No, but the things I've seen and heard about it just throw away the good parts of Metroid and it's the only game where the plot has caused me to stay far away from it.
Having played Other M, I disagree. Poorly handled? Yes. Worst game of the year? Not even close. Dante's Inferno takes that prize. The mediocre ripoff of God of War gameplay was okay, but the level design was nauseatingly repetitive and redundant. The story was god awful as well. With Other M at least the gameplay was good and Samus's annoying dialogue was easy to ignore. The plot of Other M is a leadup to Metroid Fusion, so it makes more sense if you watch it from that context. The only flaws were Samus not sounding tough and being forced by Adam not to use your gear. I was terribly disappoointed that the studio that gave me Dead Space, a game I love, gave me such a POS game as Dante's Inferno.

my worst one has to be a tie between fable 3 , dantes inferno, and too human i borrowed all three of them form friends and still felt i overpaid
I'd agree with you, but to be fair Fable 3 and Too Human I only watched my roommate play. Agree on DI though. Visceral, you disappoint.

I wanted a good racing game to play with my friends. I found this at gamestop and thought "This might work." I played this game for no more than 15 minutes, then quietly removed the disk, went back to gamestop, and returned the game. When they said "This game doesn't have a lot of resale value: you won't get too much for it." I went "I DON'T CARE. PLEASE REMOVE THIS WRETCHED EXCUSE FOR A GAME FROM MY POSESSION BEFORE I HURT SOMEONE."
That game was ugly, cheap, buggy, boring, and really poorly designed. You can only rejoin races twice if you die, which is bound to happen when you fall through the floor of the map again, which WILL happen. The cars were slow, the levels were unremarkable and usually loading while we were playing, and the announcer sounded really really annoyed with his job. It was pathetic, and I'm glad I'll probably never have to see it again.

I don't play a lot of games (I have avoided most of the AAA shooters on the market), and what games I do play I play on PC. Saints Row 2 and Dead Space, both just awful ports. Saints Row 2 I can get to run at about 30FPS which is just playable but even so, the vehicles handle like crap, the draw distance is useless and there are minimal graphics options. GTAIV was awful on release (No support for ATI cards?) but subsequent patches have just about fixed all of its game-play and technical problems. No such patches from THQ.

Dead Space is firstly a disappointment because I heard it was more of a successor to System Shock 2 than Bioshock was. It isn't, they are as bad as each other only Dead Space is also a shit port. At least Bioshock ran properly and delivered a good looking if vacuous shooter, Dead Space failed as a basic game on the PC. Yuck.

My vote is Conflict: Denied Ops.
My dad and little brother played the hell out of the other games in the series and swear that they are some of the best ever made. I was indifferent of them, more frustrated than anything.
But when they approached me with the latest installment, I practically threw the controller at my brother for making such a terrible purchase.

stormrise. the controls were stupid and the story was confusing. i also found that the enemies spawn troops 10x faster then you can.

grand theft auto 4,
it was too gritty, and the ending was overall depressing
by the time the game was over i was hoping too end up with a huge mansion, a shiny car and all idiots who tried to mess with me, dead,(like San Andreas) no such luck...
i play video games to get away from a harsh reality, not to have one worse them my own
If GTA 4 was real for you then damn, I want to live your life!
Oh wells.
It would be Oblivion for me too

Resident evil 5 on the 360, (I general love anything zombie related)

but its controls were just unbelievably horrendous and made the game near unplayable for me, the way your character handled was so horrible it was like maneuvering a half dead excitable drunken moose through a maze made of Tabasco sauce with a feather

Sorry to all BioWare fans, but it'd have to be Dragon Age Origins for a very simple reason: IT IS LONG AND SOMEWHAT BORING. The combat system wasn't really engaging or fluid, but the game did make it fun to kill things. The game is just SO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWly-paced. I finished 3 endings and did ~20 hours total before the boredom struck. Also, the combined price of all the DLC is enough to pay for a Lamborghini (sp.?). If you don't agree, feel free to respond.
I agree with that. I was hooked on it for maybe a week, but then after playing another game I realized how boring and bland Dragon Age was. Combat put me to sleep, and way too much talking, especially in the mountains. Also, to beat the game, I had to hack it to get invulnerability, watch Lords of Dogtown, the X-Games and/or be listening to music just for it to keep enough of my interest to keep going.

You actually played that game?

Easily.

I played it for five minutes then go massacred by a villager I attacked.
An unarmed villager.

I had a sword and full armor.
How were you, a single person, massacred?

OT: The worst current-gen game that I've personally played is the Kung Fu Panda game. It came with my xbox. As you might expect, it's just a cheap cash-grab tie in piece of kiddy trash.

I'm gonna go with Bayonetta. Offensive, confusing, befuddling, insulting, rediculously impossible to follow. I still hate myself for selling it at my stores.

Fracture
One of the first games I bought for my PS3. Unfortunetly I didn't check it up before, like I normally do with games I intend to buy. The gameplay mechanics(rising or making the ground sink) was pretty impressive, but the game was just awful. I never got any far and I won't start it up again.
