Ashley in Resident Evil 4. She was helpless and you should have been able to let her die. I never liked that game anyway so she was the icing on the whole cake. Of shit.

sums up my feelings when people complain

This X1000 I never got why people hated her so much when she was that easy to control

OT:Argillia from Digital Devil Saga, while she gets better in the second game her whole I can't eat people thing gets really annoying.I'm not saying it's not a logical reaction but it really kills me when the whole thing gets in the way of killing Bat. Had they killed Bat it would have saved her girl crush, made their job loads easier and saved us from some really annoying boss fights.

As for irredeemable I point to Jude from Wild Arms 4,he's a moralizing prick who pushes his one sided views on everybody, tells the girl who lost her entire town that she doesn't know what he's going through and is just plain annoying when controlling him during platforming sections. As a minor offender Armund from the same game, biggest insult to the title of Drifter ever.

and in an actually specific example, Cole from Infamous.
what what what!?!

Now I'm sad

OT, StarKid, ME3, any character that's introduced two seconds from the end is never a good thing, and here's another prime example of that!

Snow, GODDAMNED SNOW! (FF13)

Snow: "Heroes don't need PLANS!!!"

Me: "Oh god, this is going to be a theme, isn't it?"

Short answer, yes...

Sheva from RE5, every companion from Fallout 1 (Ian keeps shooting me, Tycho is so worthless - all he does is mope around, Katja can't take shit for damage without dying, and Dogmeat can't equip armour or items. By halfway, Ian and Katja were dead, and Tycho wasn't much help, and Dogmeat always hit critical condition in any fight), Oblivion (nice going, guys.. walking into walls...), and some others, that don't immediately come to mind.

As much as I absolutely despise that character and the ending, that image would be funny if it wasn't blatantly incorrect. And people know it's wrong, but avoid that fact for some reason.

Lightning from FFXIII. She blames everyone else for everything, never takes responsibility for her actions, makes tons of mistakes but only whines when others make them, is a ridiculously generic, gloomy and distant character and is basically just a ridiculously annoying and useless character overall.

Alistair was very annoying in Dragon Age: Origins.
And YOU! I always considered you a reasonable person! We are now mortal enemies.

OT: Ulfric Stormcloak. I mean, come on. You basically take over the entirety of Skyrim single-handedly in his name, and he still treats you like a piece of shit. "Oh, thanks. Here, have a shitty sword from the armory. Now fuck off." No, fuck YOU, Ulfric. Characters like his is the reason I want mods like being able to kill even important quest NPCs. If there was ever a picture-book style dictionary, his picture would be right under "douchebag".
I don't know, because I haven't taken the side of the Empire, but I presume their leader to be the same. I guess the only difference between the two sides is the armor texture on their guards.

The only one that comes to mind immediately is Kendra from Dead Space 1. Every time she chimes in to tell me to do something, I just find myself gripped by a sudden, inexplicable rage. And while the fact that Isaac had never killed a human before made for some fairly powerful scenes in Dead Space 2, I'm still kind of disappointed that I never got a chance to curb stomp that annoying *****. I'd literally sacrifice some of the most powerful character moments in the series just to put a space boot in her stupid mouth, that's how much I hate her.

Characters that come to mind:

Steve from Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Everything about him just annoyed me so much especially his voice. Come to think of it, Alfred and Alexia were pretty bad too. You know what? Screw anyone who was in Code Veronica.

Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid series. I really have no interest in continuing MGS games because of Raiden. I'm sorry but that is how I feel.

Fi from Skyward Sword. I really REALLY don't like someone holding my hand throughout an entire game.

You knew it was coming.

It's like they took "The Architect" from the Matrix's snot nosed nephew and put him in a glowing onesie.
Pretty much this. One day he will destroy all of organic life for his cycle is infinite and the planets are finite.
Oh and Zimos from saints row 3. His voice really got on my nerves. Saints row 3 was really a failure. The only good part is free roaming and killing everyone. I don't get why there isn't a jet pack though.

While he's probably not the worst character in all of gaming, he certainly ranks super high on my shit list.

Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4. There is just so little about his character I find tolerable. He's whiny, he's hypocritical, he's rude, he's selfish, he's mildly homophobic.

He's just an asshole.
I found Ken to be way more annoying the Yosuke, was so happy when The Answer came out so I can happily unleash my hatred.
I know Ken is a kid but they tried to put adult attitudes into a kids personality and what came out was this annoying brat who never really helped with the storyline and always accumulated dust during the Tarturus areas. Yosuke took some time to get used to I will admit but compared to the whiny brat from Persona 3, I thought he was a regular high school student.
While I don't really like Ken either, he's not in the game as much. He doesn't have nearly as much screen time or dialogue as Yosuke so he really didn't get as many moments to bother me as much. Plus he could be mostly ignored as there were several story scenes where he only had like one or two lines of dialogue.

But we'll agree to disagree.
Okay fair enough, I suppose I could replace Ken for Junpei, All throughout the game he is ALWAYS trying to outclass the main character (I will stick with the PS2 game and not the psp game) He is always trying to be number 1 and when he is not the leader he throws a big ***** fit and acts like a douche bag, he even disregards orders during the second full moon while not a big problem could still have complicated the story if he did indeed get overrun. He is just completely immature and we never really see him get a job while Yosuke handles working at Junes. There are only a few good things about Junpei that I liked, he introduces the hermit social link and his romance later on in the game (I will not lie that was sort of shocking)

But yes I suppose you and I agree to disagree lol

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Junpei was the most mature character in that game. Most of his disregard for orders in the beginning of the game was because he wanted to feel like he matters and is important. During the Answer when everyone is being really aggressive towards each other he's the only one who thinks fighting was ridiculous but was at peace with it.

I really felt bad for beating the shit out of him during the Answer.

Samus Aran. From Metroid Other M, of course. My god, what a boring, dull, monotone, dependent, annoying, whining coward. Samus used to be such an awesome character, but now she's ruined.

I mean, WHY would she freeze in terror when seeing Ridley? She's killed him like fifty times by now!

Lymle from Star Ocean The Last Hope (combination of her and the bad writing and voice acting made me give up very, very early).
Good god, Lymle. I just got her, and she gives me shivers of terror every time she opens her mouth. I don't know how they let that voice actor through. That voice truly belongs in a horror movie, where some little girl whose innocence masks the influence of the devil is trying to lure some unwitting people to their deaths. If this game doesn't get dramatically better soon, Lymle will make me put it down for good. The rest of the characters aren't great, but Lymle makes Tidus look understated and respectable.

Well him, Koro, Aegis and Fukka did not really want to fight but I do understand what you mean. I guess Junpei normally just got under my skin while Yosuke was more likable due to him making me laugh during the first hour into the game and he was more supportive then Junpei was (I don't think Junpei had a S Link for the male MC of Persona 3 while Yosuke did)

Princess Elise from Sonic 2k6.
I hate this character for a few main reasons which I'll try to explain without bursting into a full on rant.

1. Her AWEFUL "damsel in distress" syndrome. This chick is USELESS in every sense of the word. She gets rescued and while a fight ensues, she just stands there. She doesn't run or hide or anything intelligent. She just stands in one place and practically waits to get captured again, which actually happens. She also doesn't appear to have any sense of independence. She's just a another sack of meat in need of rescue. To top that off, there are stages where you play as Sonic, carrying her around a friggin desert. Apparently, they have an entire desert made out of quick sand and only carrying her sorry carcass around can help you cross it.

2. Her supposedly love story with Sonic. W.T.F. Before I even played the game, I heard news about this and was baffled and frankly grossed out. I played the game for a bit, got frustrated, then just watched let's plays to see how it ended. This chick was going to allow the world to be destroyed to be with a hedgehog that has been saving her sorry ass for a relatively short time. She's also practically a kid. I don't know how old she's suppose to be in the game, but she looks like she might be about 15 years old. And, oh my god, the kiss scene. She essentially kissed a dead animal.

3. This point has more to do with the plot than with her, but it's still annoying. The core of the plot is getting this chick to cry to, basically, cause the apocalypse. That's the best way to put it. So it goes through elaborate time/dimensional jumps and whatnot just to kill sonic and make here cry. Really. All that to make this girl cry. The same girl who acts like she would drain every fluid out of her body crying if you smacked her in the face.

She's pointless. She's tied to the plot making it pointless. This is tied to the game making it pointless. I probably could've gotten pass all of the other game's flaws if it wasn't for this chick. I can't stand her and I hope she NEVER shows her face in another Sonic game. Not even as a cameo or unlockable character.

And then Navi. Hey, YOU listen Navi...shut up.

Cedric from King's Quest V is a thousand times worse. At least Navi gives useful information and helps you Z-target. Cedric does NOTHING at all. He says nothing useful. He doesn't do anything useful to help Graham in his quest. He isn't brave and cowards at the first sign of danger. He warns you about danger...after it is too late to do anything about it. He has a very annoying voice. He gets captured several times through out the game and you have to rescue him. After a journey with Cedric, you would wish, no beg Navi to come back.
I've never even PLAYED any of the Kings Quest games, but I did watch some videos from Kings Quest V, and I also hate Cedric with a passion. I was going to mention him, but I don't feel that I have the right to since I haven't played any of the Kings Quest games. I wouldn't be able to bear Roberta Williams' twisted sense of logic displayed in the puzzles.
Oh, and I also wanted to throw this guy out there, too:

Anyone who knows who he is knows why he is one of the worst characters ever.

Oh, and there were a couple 50 Cent games, right? Well, he's just an awful character PERIOD, so that's not really fair.

Hope from FFXIII, I mean, just look at him.

He annoyed the hell out of me and was such a whiny bastard after his whole ordeal with Snow. The only thing he was good for was being a medic, and that was it.
huh, snow was actually IMO one of the best characters in that game i think the way he acted fit perfectly for what happened to him.
