I'm gonna call bullshit for one single reason. If that was the case, everyone would want to do it, and I wouldn't get bored playing video games and go hiking or lift weight or probably go to work. I would simply want to play video games all day, everyday. Anyone who has been unemployed and likes video games can back me up on this. It's awesome for week, then you wanna go back to work, really bad. And you almost want to smash your 360/PS3/PC to bits.

i get annoyed when someone grabs the remote from me too, does that mean i'm addicted to TV too. please, the only reason one reacts to having a controller pulled out of their hands is because it's rude and improper and is the equivalent of interrupting a conversation

This guy's got it all wrong. If a video game is the same as cocaine, then we need cocaine addicts to switch their addictions.
Seriously, Two hours of gameplay is equivalent to a line of coke. What kind of coke does that guy snort that takes two hours to do it? I'm sure reading a book will eventually cause equivalent pleasure as coke too.

"go upstairs to your kid's bedroom and try and take the game station controller out of their hands." They will react "in the same way as an alcoholic would if you tried to take their booze. It's scary,"
oh please. if I walked over to my grandmas home and ripped the knitting needles out of her hands, she would fricking stab me with them. Same thing would happen if i took my sisters ipod when she was listening to music. To believe that this is exclusive to videogames, you have to be truly stupid.

As a Brit i must apologise for this man

maybe what he says is sense
i'm not qualified to diagnose the effects of gaming
but fuck it, nothing anybody says about health risks will actually stop anybody gaming
it's if the governments try to impose bans and limits to gaming based on this where the real problems are
governments want parents votes, not childrens. So if they can please them by making the effort to half arsedly put a cap on games they will. Which is why people like this man need to shut the fuck up about their findings

i don't think any government actually will though
it's hypothetical and entirely possible
just very unlikely

I wonder how he'd react if I took the glasses off his face. (presuming he can still see reasonably well without them)

...hell I knew people in highschool who'd flip their shit if I took a pencil of theirs.

Who does this guys think he is, the POPE?!

Bad puns aside, I think we have all developed an immunity to illogical "studies" about video-games by now.

Pressing Buttons = Snorting Coce/Learning how to use weapons.

I fucking hate therapists...

EDIT : I've seen what Cocaine has done to people. I've seen people playing L4D2 for 16 hours at a time.

The Video game one would result in a headache and immediate tiredness.
The cocaine option would result in hillusionations, dreams, and unexpected emotions/reactions.

I think this therapist has never played a Video-game in his life.

Playing Games is fun.
Snorting Cocaine is fatal.

I live in the UK, so if I ever find this guy I'm going to stick a broken bottle up his ass for beign such an un-educated Twat cake.

Seems like this guy is trying to become a member of the Anti-Fun Brigade.

Why is it that almost every modern trend suffers critism from pillocks like this guy while they have no FUCKING solid evidence for claims.
And with the release of Duke Nukem Forever boasting it's full frontal nudity coming up while we still have pillocks like this guy running free spouting shit and Fox News still believed to be a serious news network It won't get any better yet

Mate, if you try and take anything out of my hands, you're getting a hearty "fuck off".

See, if he had worded it "go into your kids bedroom and ask him to come off the game for a bit" he may have had a point, because people do say "do I have to". But then again, you don't get a bad reaction if you yourself ask politely.

This man is an idiot.

Considering cocaine is far far more addictive than video games (even non humans will forgoe all forms of sustinence in favor of more cocaine) I think this guy is talking out his ass. Yeah like normal people don't react to having anything taken from them while they're using it. Does this mean I'm addicted to homework too?

I second this! because when I think about it, its one of the few times I can call my self unlazy... Play WoW for a week straight and you find yourself applying to scrub toilets when you're perfectly wealthy... As with my other problems, I BLAME TRADE!

This guy can shove it where the sun don't shine. I've been playing games since I was small and I turned out just fine, my friends and family can vouch.
