Show of hands. Who thinks this generation will kill the franchise? *raises hand*
Show of hand: Who thinks any pokemon games will sell millions even if Nintendo were to just remaking the same game with updated graphic?

*Raises both hands*
They've done that.
And I'll keep buying them, 'cause I'm a Pokemon whore!

I'm also quite proud of that fact! :D

The left one's head has a very similar shape to Celebi's. There looks like there are leaves on the end of it's tail which makes the idea of it being the grass type very convincing. However Flygon has a similar shape on it's tail and Flygon is Ground/Dragon.
It's possible that it could be the water type as it has a very slender body and wide tail end which would help it to swim, although the tail isn't rudder shaped, making it unlikely.
This one is standing upright. Most fire starters are able to stand upright, so this could also be the fire type.

The middle one looks quite similar to Turtwig. The things on it's head could be leaves, and it's tail could be a berry so also could be a grass type. The tail is similar to Maril's, hence it could have a similar purpose but I think this would be unlikely.

The right one looks very much like a beaver, small ears, flat tail, body shape. This is most likely to be the water type.
Like the left one, this one is also standing upright so it could be the fire starter.

Maybe they're not even using the Fire/Water/Grass typing that they did before?

Possibly and hopefully. But they're Japanese. They don't usually do anything new.

Can't believe so many people fall for the fake images. I knew they were fake the moment I saw them.

From what I here, the starters will be available, in full color, to view this friday on Serebii.

I'm actually willing to bet that the the guessed grass-type starter is quite humanoid, with a (near)normal face and sweeping backwards head crest, just that's what I immediately thought when I saw the silhouette.

I was always a fan of the second-gen starters (minus chickorita of course ;))

This kind of mentality works with an older audience, but the franchise is beckoning in a new generation of kids, most of which never watched the original show or played the original games. This audience works very differently from older ones of course, by showing renewed interest in simple reskins of old things.

I thought the thing with the odd tail was the Fire type (That could be fire, or it could have horns instead of fire), the thing with the large ears was grass (It could be gigantic Leaves), and that the Weasal thing was a Water Type (It looks like it could swim). Though It would be nice to have a different triangle instead of Water/Fire/Grass, I highly doubt it.

oh god, when can they start making cool pokemon again like the originals instead of the stupid looking things, even though its just some silhouettes they still look pretty dumb

ok, I'm not the only one who just thinks that these ones look just kind of stupid. Call me closed-minded, but none of the pokemon they come up with are gonna to be as good as the original 3 (with the exception of Mudkipz)

I hope that pointy thing on the head of the left pokemon turns out to be the back of the head or hair or something. It'd be nice to have a sleek/graceful starter for a change.

Apparently my friend said coloured screens have been posted, but IDK if he is BSing or not.

Either way, they look pretty ugly, I doubt anything will beat the first 3 generation of starts, I mean, they gave us MUDKIPS, how can you beat that!?
The Piplup family. Adorable critter to a giant steel penguin.
You've got a point, it'd be pretty hard to top Metal Gear Penguin.

I don't think that the one on the left doesn't has a beak like the idea of the grass type. I thought it was turning its head to the right and the "beak" was the back of its head. Looks a lot better like that to me.

I know I saw this on serrebi.net, that blue and white one LOOKS RETARDED, it also appears to be some sort of otter Pokemon, I hope the later evolutions wont suck as much dick.
