Snipers.

I HATE snipers so much. I don't care that most FPS players like being snipers. Its the least skilled way to play any FPS. Try actually playing the game instead of hiding in a little hill keeping your mouse at the same spot where you know someones head will always be at regardless of how you enter.
your confused, that's a rape method known as "camping". both snipers and grunts have tendencies to do that. it just falls on snipers heads more because they can do it from further away.

I am enraged that I cannot kill children in video games. I mean they are the most annoying little buggers why cant I just take a shotgun to their heads?
Because that would make the ban on videogames an actual certainty.
Maybe if you live in a fascist state.

Getting bested by people who are clearly less skilled and brilliant than me (i.e. my little brother) because games require little skill - the latest being wii sports series'.

This, a thousand times this. In Fallout 3 when i try to cut their throats they just get back up. In Fable TLC the closest to killing i could come was punching them a few times. Sometimes those bastards need some .50 caliber asprin

Balance issues trouble me the most. Where you shoot a guy in the head 5 times and he still manages to kill you first. Also, if your playing a game for the first time and they don't tell you how to play it.

Also, sound balancing. Ever had a hard time hearing the speech in a cut-scene because the background music was too loud? AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRG!
THIS, especially when you can't turn the volume up too loud for fear of upsetting the people you live with.

In Left 4 Dead, when i'm just running along i have two regular zombies hitting me - it slows me down and i can BARELY move. How does slapping and hitting a person cause them to stop dead in their tracks? I can understand a horde of zombies gathering around you can do some damage but 1-2 zombies? REALLY?
This, and it also applies for World of Warcraft.
Yupp.

Daze. My archnemesis of gaming...

Also, games that don't grasp the concept of liniarity (Is that spelled properly?).

When you make a linear game, you make sure the players knows where to go. You don't give the hint of where to go when you've already found the right way, because that forces you to look for it for ages.

When rouges in World of Warcraft tag team you. Stun, Backstab, Backstab, Sinister Strike, Kidney Shot, Backstab, Backstab, Kidney Shot, Shadow Step, Ambush, Dead. Really whats the point in even trying to fight back? Paladins too, you knock them down to 10 health, then Divine Shield, Heal, and there goes all of your hard work... (Just a few of the reasons why I quit.)

Oh and dumb AI. Especially when you have to escort them through a room full of zombies (ahem Dead Rising). "Oh hi Mr. Zombie. Do you want to cuddle?"

Weapon degradation. It was fine in Fallout 3, where I could easily repair, but in other games (Silent Hill Origins) it was almost game breaking.
In fallout 3, the kids were incredibly annoying. Wasted ammo blasting in tehir general direction.

Weapon degeneration breaks immersion like nothing else. In oblivion the swords were made of cut out cardboard, and would shatter at the smallest punishment. And bethesda isn't the only game maker to spoil good fights with toy weapons.

The only time I get pissed at Fallout's system is when my Terrible Shotgun breaks. It has impossibly low health, and breaks after 146 shots from full health. Considering that 146 shots for me is about 20 minutes of gameplay, it gets annoying when I don't have any combat shotguns, caps or alien epoxy to fix it.

Yes, yes, and yes some more. Cheaters ruin games for everyone. Here's a screenshot of a Battlefield 2 game I played where someone thought it would be funny to crash the server by spawing dozens of vehicles from the sky:

FaN Scouts. It's all blam-blam, bye-bye 125 HP. They should revert that damage buff, or at least lower the knockback. If the first shot lands, the second shot is a freebie because the target is pinned to the wall with all the knockback.

And deus ex machina/poor implementation of Chekov's Gun/asspull ending/aka 'Diabolus Ex Machina'. Ahem. Fallout 3.

Platforming in a game that's not a platformer i.e. i-Fluid
Stealth in a game that's not a stealth game i.e. BG&E
"Adventure" games ever. I don't know how to describe it, but if you've ever played an "Escape the" game, you know what I mean. Such twisted logic of where your supposed to look. i.e. Research and Development

Left 4 Dead on versus, when the special infected find objects that we cannot move and force them in front of a mission critical exit, effectively breaking the game. E.G. forklift wedged into a doorway at the top of the elevator on No Mercy.

Why don't I come to your house, start hitting you, and see how much you can get done?

Ahahaha, but seriously that is realism for you. See I have always been against any kind of realism in games because even a little can lead to really stupid ideas, and they are coming from people who aren't on drugs so that is scary.

I guess, going along with the topic of this thread, my main source of rage in games is realism. I want to be able to jump off a building and land without taking any damage. I want to be able to run though a room, eat up all of the bullets that come my way, and still survive to kill every one in that room. Doing stuff that normally wouldn't happen is fun, cool, and the main reason for why I play video games and watch movies.
Play prototype. Problem solved :) actually i found the battlefield screen quite funny

not true sniping is one of the hardest classes of FPS for you have to find a hiding spot chainge after 1 shot never get seen and be a good and fast aim
I disagree with this claim, snipers are not difficult to use (they may be hard to master but their use is quite simple).

Snipers can usually count on even a moderately sheltered position giving them sufficiant protection from enemy fire while most other players (such as those with close range SMGs and shotguns) have to sacrifice their defensive positions in order to get into effective range (sadly, most games seem to think that all shotguns work like blunderbusses and that you must be within a stone's throw of your target if you want to have any degree of effectiveness to your shot).

Snipers usually have a 1 or 2 shot kill regardless of what location they hit on the target and regardless of range (couple this with their long range and high accuracy and you can see how this might come across as being cheap in the eyes of CQB combatants).

Also, a single sniper in a game is actually quite fun (it can add variety to a team game), however, it is not good or even nessercary for everyone on the opposing team to be wielding a high power sniper rifle (I've seen this occur plenty of times).

As for other things that piss me off in games:

Open/non-linear worlds, American protaganists, unbalanced multiplayer, kids, uncooperative NPCs, 1-hit kills, 'realism', military shooters, unavoidable doom, torches with pathetic battery life (yes, I'm looking at you FEAR), only being able to carry two weapons, explosives in multiplayer, multiplayer in general, Valve's 'gate' system, unskippable cut scenes and teabagging.
