Unless society changes drastically there will never be a realistic depiction of sex in a western console video game.

A game will never be released that does not piss off some random fan of a previous installment of the series. It will be too short, too long, have different music, new characters, mechanics, art style, or did not change enough for their personal enjoyment. Prompting them to attempt to coerce fellow gamers into boycotting said product.

I know when I see a great idea for kickstarter.

It's funny to see the OP themselves to be the first to respond the wrong way around to the subject on topic. On the first item, no less, and then getting it right on the second one.

Anywhoooo:

There will be a game where you put a kumquat through a mangler, trying to make the result look as much like Gerard Depardieu as possible.

developers not treating paying customers like criminals (DRM)
CD Projekt RED has no DRM on the Witcher games when you buy them from GoG

We will never see EA seen in a light more bright than Hitler

Hmm, can I flip the tables around?

Gamers will realize a game just isn't to their tastes and will just let it be, instead of going onto every forum and review site to rage, trash talk and 1/10 rate bomb it.

Oh, gaming reviews - they would shrink to a 5-star system (Don't buy, you'll probably dislike it, average, good, really good) instead of the /10 or /100 system which is ambiguous at best. That way instead of the current trend of <75% score being crap, it'll get translated as a 3/5 which makes the title still viable for playing.

Publishers will not offer bonuses to studios based on metacritic rankings.

Instead of arguing which platform is better, people will just go "Oh, the PlayBox 1024 fits your needs and exclusives while the X-Station 5 does the same for me. That's cool."

Publisher PR/marketing departments won't over hype a game and/or lie about features.

Gamers won't treat news from developers as if they were trying to hide something and start projecting outrageous conspiracy theories about what is REALLY happening.

Similarly, studios would be more upfront about what's going on (i.e. delays).

And gamers would be more accepting of such news.

Gamers will realize the huge gap in what they think goes on in development vs. how it really is like, and will stop talking like they know better.

A Halo game centered on the Sangheili and Covenant history in general. A game that explores the rich Halo universe from the opposing perspective and fleshes out the backstory of the Covenant's rise and eventual fall and exploring themes like religious zealotry, church and state, racism and socio-economic class.

The potential for all of that exist in the Covenant side of the Halo story, but sadly while such a game would be amazing there is no way Sangheili as awesome and amazing they are will ever be as marketable as Spartans, which is a shame because I honestly want to see such a game get made but alas, it never will.
I'd personally love that. I don't want to play Halo 4 thanks to the way the Sangheili have been screwed over. But hey, Halo seems to be going down the camp of "humans are awesome," especially with their bloody Spartans.
*High five for fellow Sangheili fan!*

There will never be a wide-eyed smiling protagonist on the box art of an M rated game in the US.

The majority of games coming out will focus on a challenge outside of trying to kill that one dude.

There will never be an MMO as awesome as Ultima Online.
Well at least it's still around with regular updates! Still fun as hell too 15 years later. I've been playing that game on and off since I was 9 and is my go to game when I'm bored with my PC collection.

I'm sad that Jet Set Radio will never see another sequel. Though Breakbeat music isn't really that popular nowadays. It's be nice for Sega to release a digital sequel with Professor K blaring new genres of music (not fucking dubstep) to keep it fresh.

More imagination and originality in video games. So anything FromSoft, Naughty Dog, Valve, Sucker Punch, ect. makes will actually be a worth a small fortune.

All gamers will be sensible human beings.

All game devs with these intentions only: Most if not all Fans>money.
