That's fine. Whether or not you think the story is good is a matter of opinion, and (for the most part) I respect opinions that are different to mine. But the argument that Halo has 'no story at all' is just ignorance, which I do have a problem with.Imp Emissary said:I have played most of the Halos, and have really enjoyed the experiences. However, this was in no way because of Halo's story(and 70% of what I played was the single player or co-op mode). I would in no way say that there is no story in Halo, that is not ture, but it is with out a doubt the weakest part of it. The focus of Halo is the gameplay, and the main objective of killing whoever gets in your way. The game could bring some of the more interesting concepts that are shown in the books and movies, but they didn't. If you want Halo's real interesting story you have to go see the movies, anime, or read the books. Thats fine if you really care, but thats not in the game. The way to make a good story in a game is to let the player do it, to introduce it through gameplay, but that is not what Halo does. Halo has a good story, but its not in the games.NinjaDeathSlap said:Both of these. So so much.JustRin said:This. Look, i LIKE Halo. I don't care if it "doesn't contribute" anything to gaming. The six games, anime films, live action shorts, seven books (five more on the way), short story collection, graphic novel, six comic books, character journal, and amazing audio drama beg to differ you fucking prick.
Other than that, not much, but I will correct people if I hear them saying things that are blatantly wrong.
OT. People who have only seen the Star Wars prequels (and not the original ones) and think that they know Everything about Star Wars ( mostly 8-10 year olds ).
It's particularly awful when people I know try and claim that the Prequels were BETTER FILMS! I have come close to punching people for saying that.
What they were showing was Two Thrones; the third game. Farah was in that game.believer258 said:[...]
Thirdly, they got the story extremely wrong(Farrah wasn't in the fucking game! She was in the first and third ones!).

One of mine is when people ask why they didn't just ride the eagles to Mordor/Rivendell/etc. The eagles are heralds of and were devised by Manwë himself, the leader of the Valar. When they help, it is basically divine intervention. It's not like calling a horse or something. The eagles are not at your beck and call.
I know that I have others, but I can't recall them right now. Share yours!

NERD RAGE
Oh, God. I've made a technical mistake. I DIDN'T CHECK MY FACTS! FUCK! I must rage at myself now...
Damn, that was a bit of an overreaction.
A fair point. However I still think the story could be presented better in the games then they are, but as you say that is just MY opinion and you are right. Our own personalities will always affect our individual experiences.NinjaDeathSlap said:That's fine. Side Point: I've played all the games but apart from that have only ever read one of the books (First Strike), and yet I do have a decent grasp of the story, so maybe there's more in there than you think.
I felt like I died inside when Battle Network first came out and when they decided to make it a franchise. I played the first one, felt ashamed, and never touched it again.Madara XIII said:Any Capcom game or Capcom Icon that gets destroyed over time
Example:
Megaman Battle Network ( I will never acknowledge that as Megaman)
Megaman Zero Series (I'm ok with the zero series, but they should have ended it at X6)
The New Devil may Cry (The one that even Kamiya said is horrid)
YES...that, completely. I had to stop watching the show after I took my course in evidence collection and handling. I started screaming at the television every time they did anything;newwiseman said:CSI too for the same reasons..
This. Just this.Scarim Coral said:Pretty much how people play video games in tv show and film. How hard is it to simply film them playing a game for real? Example I think it was in Angel or Buffy that Spike was playing a Donkey Kong game on the N64 however in the next scene he is playing it with a PS2 control pad!
Remind that evolution is a theory, but so is religion. That equalises the positions, so you can play the Evidence Game.Angerwing said:When people say "Evolution is 'just a theory'". It just tells me they profoundly misunderstand science, and it makes me angry inside.
