As a huge RPG fan the word 'Wii'. Every time there is a good looking JRPG about it always ends up been for the Wii!

Up until I played Deus Ex, if I saw the publisher was Squeenix - I'd give that game a very wide berth. I still feel the same way about anything by Capcom, too. I guess I'm just not fond of Japanese games. They're a little too strange for my tastes.

But gameplay wise - the escort mission. The minute I hear "please escort..." I roll my eyes.
So, that means you skipped on Just Cause 2?! *GASP*

My main turn-off when considering to buy a game is very probably the price-to-content ratio. If a game offers way too little content for the price I'd be paying it for, I'll not buy it. I'm especially looking at you, Call of Duty. Making people pay 59.99 ON FUCKING PC is preposterous.
And then there's the usual DRM question...

"Free 30 day subscription included." I hate when a game that looks to be a good single player game with a few unique ideas turns out to be an MMO that everyone will either forget or that you have to pay for.

Naw, man, I gotta disagree again. The setup and gameplay resembles the two recent Fallout releases far more than they resemble Left 4 Dead. Building weapons, scavenging ammunition, more focus on melee weapons than L4D - definitely Fallout with zombies.
Its more modern, only reason I said Left 4 Dead.
Gameplay wise, its just WHAT IF BEAR GRILLS WAS IN A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! Other then that, I stopped caring, since they specifically promised a real survival based game, BUT we get Left 4 Dead on an island with what was SUPPOSED to be almost no guns and little ammo, melle focused, food scavenging.

Now all you are is a walking, health regen tank that on occasion has to reload. My predictions went from OH BOY, ITS GOING TO BE AWESOME! To the, Its going to be a rip off of CoD's zombie mode on an island where your just a super bullet man super hero. I started thinking this when the pre-order bonus is a chainsaw and a arena area, whats survival based about a arena, NOTHING! Think what you want, but I lost hope in the game.

Another Turn Off: When Pre-Order DLC does not open to the public within a month after release.

in case of an RPG: beeing made by Bioware, if it does contain multiple races having only humans elves and dwarfes , if it has no proper combat system.
For example Wildstar: i realy liked the idea of the game till i figured that it had a hotkey based combat system and i was like. "no i wont have that"

The word "casual"

and generaly having less content than the previous game like HoMM 6 having only 5 Factions. Extra if it also has a worse artstyle.

also in case of any TBS game or Action RPG if it has no Multiplayer. Like it is the case with Kings Bounty (no i dont count that awfull facebook version)

Turn based combat. Anyone here remember a game by the name of Lost Odyssey? I doubt you do. One of the most amazing trailers for a game I've ever seen, interesting premise. I eagerly bought up the 4 disc title, and as I preped for the supposedly astounding opening battle...

turn based combat. No quicker way to kill excitement and produce repetitive boring gameplay.
Then at least you stopped early, the story (which the game is based around) gets really shitty after disc 1.

Any game that features online multiplayer or co-op but not splitscreen of any kind. Or to a lesser extent, 2 person splitscreen maximum when the game itself can do up to 4, looking at you Halo(I still love it) but it's fustrating when I live with 2 other people who all like the game but I cannot play multiplayer with both or either of them without buying a new system.

Medieval Fanatasty role playing games that talk about the new features of NPC relationships, then eliminate types of weapons, armor, and spells that were available for the first 4 games.

I'm probably not going to buy anything that's exclusive to EA's origin service. Even without all the bad press and ethically questionable business decisions involved with origin, I've had too many bad experiences with EA's online systems in the past to risk it.

Usually if I see Capcom or Square Enix logos slapped on a game then I back the fuck up. Their games tend to involve clunky gameplay, horrible voice acting, and your standard JRPG archetypes.

Also, if a game has anything above the standard level of grey and brown, unless it comes with great atmosphere (Deus Ex, Demon's Souls), I'm going to avoid that game like the plague. If you don't have some kind of message or tone that goes with the ugliness other than, "we're realistic! honest!" then there is no reason to make your game so fucking ugly.

Online leaderboards. AVGN put it best; "It's just a bunch of nerds showing off their high scores"

STATS STATS STATS. k/d ratio, average clickspeed, macrospeed, gearscore, hardwarescore. Numbers, numbers numbers numbers numbers, where's the fun?

Microtransactions. This one isn't that bad, if it's subtle, but most of the time it's more along the lines of "he who pays, wins." main offender; battlefield Heroes.

RTS thats it i just need to see those letters to hate a game seriously think of game genres as currency in that the more common it is the less its worth well if that were true and i sincerely beleive it is then RTS is the most common genre and therefore worth the least

I assume you're talking about Skyrim, to which I reply, that's incorrect. Skyrim didn't remove anything, it just merged weapon, armor, and spell types. All your favorite weapons and spells are still available to you. The only exception to this is polearms, but those were removed in Oblivion, so it hasn't been available for the first 4 games.

Poorly worded box-blurbs alert me to potential problems in the game itself: if you can't be arsed to get the blurb right, what other corners did you cut?

Irrelevant bullet-points: I really don't care how many buzz-words you can string together, I'm not fooled by that crap. It's like increasing the font size to 14 instead of 12 so I could make a 4 page report into a 5 page one when I was in grade school.

If there's DLC on the way and the game isn't even out, I'm willing to wait until the game both goes down in price and comes in a form bundled with this DLC.

Also, I'm rather a fan of free-to-play games. The biggest turn-off is if free-players are crippled excessively.

Japanese-style anime usually turns me off a game. That doesn't mean I hate all games like that, it just means that I don't usually buy them (or even like them). I love Kingdom Hearts but thats about it for those kind of games.
