That's probably the best option for them to go with, especially considering that sports games usually get released every year with (usually) minor enhancements. However, seeing the whole game industry adopting to this method is a bit harder of a vision to imagine...
I read somewhere about how the NHL games on PS3 and 360 got skipped a year, to focus on improvements for their Wii version, and they just went ahead and did roster change DLC instead.

Hmmmm.

A controversial idea but not entirely without it's good points. Low cost means more people buying at launch and then (hopefully) more people buy the DLC and then more money goes to the people who make the game and we are happy.

But, I think me and a lot of others are somewhat skeptical of game creators going the lazy route and releasing an incomplete game and then making you pay to get a complete game.

It COULD work, but only if the game doesn't suffer from a content deficiency at launch.

Yay THQ, do this with the Warhammer 40,000 games! I can see this working and would love it to happen; but it could make you pay more at the end of the day.

Kinda sad how if they do reduce, it'll actual reach the price games should be sold over here in NZ.
