I have zero respect for police except that they have a gun and the authority to use it. I assume any cop I'm interacting with is corrupt and/or incompetent and have a polite and professional manner in my interaction to minimize the amount of time I have to be in contact with them. I've never had a truly bad experience but more than once interacted with cops were assholes and had attitudes like they were big shits instead of little dicks.Katherine Kerensky said:I bought a souvenir in Paris when I was younger. Apparently, a cop did not like the transaction, and came at me and the seller with a truncheon of some sort. Swung and hit my hand, scared and chased off the souvenir merchant.
Luckily the crystal Eiffel Tower I bought wasn't damaged, but I had to find the guy I bought it from to get the LED base.
And then there was the time the police knocked on the door because they were after my asshole house-mate. They were... unkind in the manner they asked me about him. Apparently they were joking, but they certainly didn't act like it at the time.
So, I haven't really had the best experience with police, even if I want to respect them for what they do.
That probably comes off as harsh, and there are some great cops out there, but the ones that suck ruin it for everyone.
