OOC- Sorry if I do anything weird, I've played DnD exactly one time. And thanks a lot for stealing the marker dagger, how're they gonna find the inn?

Heh, I guess I'm already interfering then. I didn't know it was a marker, it sounded from your post like you had just randomly decided to plunge one of your daggers in the ground and, hey, I'm a bad guy, if I see a dagger, I might as well take it.

Do they have to? Don't make things too artificial.

Don't forget, my character zoomed right past your inn.

Day breaks, and Ishtul wakens after a long and restless night. Not looking forward to the arduous climb down five flights of stairs, but not quite feeling like jumping out of a fifth story window, he slowly pulls himself out of bed. After donning his leather chestpiece, gloves, boots, leggings, and helm, Ishtul grabs his bow and quiver and heads to the exit.

After finally reaching the ground floor, Ishtul proceeds out the exit, ignoring a dirty look from the bartender.

Standing in the middle of the street, in a town he did not even know the name of, with absolutely no leads as to where he was supposed to head, other than the possibility of Trollslottet, Ishtul was close to giving into despair. Even if he were to find the party, and that blasted wolf, he wasn't even certain if he could best them in battle, especially it they were together.

Dismayed, Ishtul left the town to continue along the path to Trollslottet, wondering if he should just give up. Though his task seemed impossible, he knew his Master would not tolerate failure, and that displeasing the Master tended to lead to slow and horrifying death.

And so, Ishtul continued on down the road, contemplating life, until he saw animal tracks on the path. Normally, this would not concern him, but these tracks were not crossing, but directly following the path. Towards Trollslottet even!

Excited at what might finally be a lead after all this time, Ishtul hurriedly bends down to examine the tracks. Looking closer, he finds two sets of tracks, side by side. The larger of the two looks to be remarkably canine, but far too large for an animal around this area. The other is much smaller, barely leaving an imprint in the hardened dirt of the road.

Ishtul, looking back on what he knows of druids, knows that they can transform into animals and generally have animal familiars. He also notices that the two animals appear to be alone, as no other recent tracks are nearby. Believing that he is finally back on the trail of the damned wolf once again, Ishtul hurries along the path, eager to catch up to his prey.

Well, Shall we say we're on the road to Luskan from Neverwinter? It's been a long while after the war, and people are at peace (hence the hamlets and whathaveyou). That also conveniently gives us the Neverwinter Woods and can explain the fairly homogenous racial mix we've seen so far. Avoid mention Luskan though, for now, since I need to confirm the chronologies and whatnot, and find a place for this trek to fit in. Possibly in the distant future.

Estrelas was looking at him. Grimjaws was looking at Estrelas. The fierce badger had a look in his eyes, asking "Why in the nine hells are you charging around like this?"

Grimjaws could not answer. Yes, it was stupid. He should confer with the Skymirror, and find the location of Swift and Mighty. Wandering about wasn't doing any good... and if he were to reach the spine of the world alone, then it would be a wasted journey, with a wasted wolf at the end.

Well, I could just say it was all a dream and I never found a trail at all, only to wake up when I hear my door open...

And yeah, I like to copy my text that I've written, refresh the page to see if anyone posted, and then paste it back into my response and continue writing.

Killion woke in a cold sweat, it had been one of those nights, one of the nights where my mind insisted on making me relive every battle I ever fought, every time I ever killed. They were all scum, and I didn't fight unless attacked, but it didn't matter. Whenever my conscience came by to visit, it would traumatize me.
Ah, well, it was time to set out anyways. [Disregard]I get dressed and walk out my door only to find Swift standing there looking out a window and seeming very confused about the sun's position in the sky. "Umm, hi. When'd you get here?" I asked.[/Disregard]

Sure, I can follow the wolf later, and this confrontation would be interesting. Sorry about your post Killion, hope you don't mind if we kind of ignore it...

Anyway, don't post anything, and I'll write something to hopefully explain it all.

Kogarian, sorry for not relinquishing my hold on your character sooner. You're free to follow Swift if you like, but I won't control you anymore.
[No problem...I was playing CoD4 and doing homework for a while there.]

Koga stood outside of the inn. After Swift and him parted company, Koga had backtracked homeward. However, he realized that the spirits of the massacred civilians would not be at rest until justice was recieved. So, with that weighing heavily on his mind, he begrudgingly followed the same path as Swift had.

When he came across the inn, he hesitated. Part of him wanted to go on and try to find the druid, but his other half felt that there was something important about to happen. Caught between the two choices, he decided to just sttand outside of the inn's door, waiting...until he saw the most curious monk/mage hybrid, who had a weapons made out of pure light. Intriguing. After watching the man start to feast, Koga took a seat beside him and ordered some mead. Turning to the monk/mage, Koga asked him where he was from.

Ishtul was finally having some luck, having followed the trail for an hour or two, he came across the very wolf he had been searching for, lying by the side of the road. Creeping closer, he noticed that the wolf was badly injured. He was in luck! This would be an easy kill, and he wouldn't have to worry about fighting the wolf's allies at all! Ishtul crept right up next to the wolf, not making a sound, and, pulling the knife he had acquired in town from his belt, prepared to deliver the killing strike. As he raised the knife above his head, he noticed an odd squeeking sound, which made no sense as it seemed to come from his arms. It was as if his arms were suddenly made of rusted metal, and he could not move them at all. He looked down from his arms at the wolf, which was suddenly well again and lunging at his throat. Ishtul watched helplessly as his life was ended while he was so helpless, and so close to fulfilling his goal...

Ishtul suddenly sat up in his bed, where he had been lying in a cold sweat. The first thing that he realized was that he was still at the inn, and still nowhere near finding the wolf. The second thing was that the annoying squeeking from his dream was still there, and, being quite awake now, Ishtul wondered where it was coming from. He stole a quick glance to his window, it was still night. He then looked around the room, until he noticed a slim beam of light playing across his floor. His eyes slowly followed it to his door, which was open, of all things! Certain that the wind from the window must be moving his door, hence, the squeeking, Ishtul started to get out of his bed.

It was then, when he started removing his covers, that he made a stunning realization: the window was closed...

Ishtul immediately became fully alert, and, looking to the door, noticed it was slowly being opened from the outside. He quickly grabbed the dagger from his bedside table, sprung to his feet, and hurled it at the crack in the door...

Well, Al, the spine of the world is not for the faint of heart.

Perhaps you'll get sidetracked and come upon the ten villages of Icewind Dale? Wikipedia might be able to give you an idea of what to do there.

Looks like Darth Mobius has got the wrong thread, too. Let's just ignore that post.

And RT, I was sort of hoping you'd track me to the Skymirror, and we could have an epic confrontation there. That's be purdy sweet.

---

It was the Skymirror. Strangely, the swell of darkness seemed to be lapping against this place, as if it were an isle. As if it were an aisle.

Grimjaws would have to contend with the challenges, and the guardians. Water elementals were only the half of it. Lost souls who became trapped by this font of nature would wander, in eternal unlife, to be called in a frenzy to protect the Skymirror. If the darkness were more than just a billowing shade... well, he wasn't safe. The guardians could be confused, or enraged.

Luckily, the challenge was easy this time: a mere pledge to wisdom and nature. After meditating in silence, something gave a solemn nod in the back of his mind. A good sign.

The Skymirror requires an offering, a proof that you walk the path of nature, and that your wisdom is strong. The green light had been given, but...

So that was it.

Grimjaws set about his rituals. This would take some time.

Yeah, it's getting a little hard to tell where I should be going right now. I think my plan is to fight with Swift, flee, find your trail, realize my dream was true, and follow it. I just wanted Swift to have his confrontation, since there wasn't enough action in this RP aside from Might.

OOC: Im jumping in, if you don't mind.
A lone cleric stumbled wearily along the path. His quarry was ahead, at the Skymirror. There were few these days that came to the mirror, fewer that knew how to use it. He had heard mutterings of strangers in the land, and strangers out here could be very good, or very bad. Perhaps it was a sign for The Reverend to head out, and see Gods will done. He crested a rise and looked down on the stranger below. He fortified himself before shouting,
"Lo, stranger! What need have you of the Skymirror?" He awaited a reply, fingering the cudgel in his robes. He hoped he would not have need of it, the man looked like he was handy with a sword..

With the unfortunate sound of knife striking wood as opposed to flesh, Ishtul knew he was now in for a fight. Being an archer in close quarters wasn't in his best interest, but it was all he knew. With this in mind, he swiped up his bow, nocked an arrow and turned to face the door just as the person outside rushed in, slamming the door open, and brandishing a wicked-looking dagger. With no time to aim, Ishtul blindly loosed his arrow at his opponent, and hoped for the best...

OOC: Currently, the Inn-eteers would be along a way-village along the road from Neverwinter to Luskan. I think that works out nicely.

I'm also going to sleep now. It works, since I'm "lost in my meditation".

Reverend, I know it's a big task, but try reading the rest of the thread, so you can fit in a little easier (if you haven't already--but I'm not too sure...)
