It's better to ask forgiveness than permission. In general fanboys who do this kind of thing rarely ask theater management if it's okay.

Incidently, this is also why fanboys oftentimes operate in teams when in costume, coming as a group. The reason being is that it's much easier to turn away one person, than say five people who are all together. It's a much bigger scene that they can cause, not to mention the pressure.

That is like not letting Leonardo DiCaprio into your movie theater to watch Inception. Or you know, fuck free publicity. Whatever.

You can't stop the Tron guy from watching Tron!

Note: Who is this Tron guy is he meant to be famous or something?
The picture pretty much sums it up.

How do they do this to such a loyal fan, it's cruelty to the max...and like some other guy said, I would pay more, even double the price to see the movie with him in the theatre...it would be so awesome

I can understand that though. Maybe if he'd made a few changes so he's not so...revealing. I mean it does kind of look like he's in his pajamas.
It is in a darkened movie theater. I don't see the problem.

Somewhere...you just KNOW the producers of this movie are reading this story and asking whether they can sue the movie theater for denying them a prime advertising opportunity.

If Star Wars nerds get to dress up as Darth Vader, voice changer and all for some, for the Star Wars prequels, Tron guy definitely should be able to see it in costume.

I thought it was kind of silly at first, but then I thought of all the people who'd bother the crap out of TRON guy. Maybe seeing the movie not in such a attention grabbing outfit is a good thing. I love his dedication to the movies but some move goers are total assholes. They'd hate his outfit and never shut up about it.

My face is red.
Not from embarrassment- oh no, its red from the impact of my hand slapping it an intensity that could only by summoned through an inconceivable amount of stupidity.
Them not knowing of Tron Guy's internet fame should not be a factor. They kicked out someone who went out of there way to go see a movie in costume, something that would generate publicity and, possibly, increase in revenue, because it was gaudy?
GG, GUISE. GG.

-waits for Tron Guy to burn down the movie theatre-

Well it's kind of like someone being naked in the dark theater. You can't really see it but I can understand where some people would feel a little weird sitting next to someone in basically pajamas like that. Also, afterwords, when the lights are up, you'll still have to see him. It wouldn't bother me, I'd probably think it's cool, but I can see where people find the discomfort.

I am actually more uncomfortable around people who are in spandex than naked. People who find Tron Guy amazing, which is most people, are the same people who don't care about what is showing in his suit.

I think I'd find them equally weird if I were to sit next to someone like that in a theater, lol. I had heard of Tron Guy like...once, and forgot about him until now.

There were two people in tronsuits at the midnight showing of Tron Legacy where I went. Both used lightfiberoptics for some basic replication and since my attention was on the movie, I didn't even notice if they had shut off the lights during the showing. So if they did then good on them, and if they didn't then it wasn't distracting and therefore no big deal.
This theater in Minnesota scores a big fat zero in my book for their discrimination.
Someone who puts that kind of effort into a costume deserves a certain amount of trust that he would respect his fellow moviegoers in the theater during the showing.

People seen movies dressed up all the time // I wonder why this one manager is having such a problem with the TRON costume

Each to their own I guess
