Look, I don't mind a character getting sucked into a fantastical world, in fact some of the best movies do that. But this Tron is not even in the same universe as the original. There's no wonder, no personifications of computer lingo, no fun. It's about three characters, the Dude, some chick, and some other dude, running away from a laughable looking Jeff Bridges all the while falling into plot holes a mile wide. Not even the special effects were that great. The worst offender, other than the aforementioned PS2 graphics version of Jeff Bridges, was Sam's entrance into the grid. The process of him entering, it looked like a Windows Movie Maker transition that someone slapped on before lunch (as opposed to the original). It's a perfect representation of how half ass the rest of the movie was.

okay, just kiddin' XD

anyways, you do have some points there, but, eh, I haven't seen Legacy, only the original one =P

So basically, it's a moderately fat guy, with a moustache, and a clueless look, wearing a banana-colored suit, that lights up. And the suit is close-fitted.

I don't want to see that. Never. That guy needs a bit of help.

Wow.

Shame on these people.

Oh, first. It's my first time :D
Yeah... You might want to edit that last part out of there before a mod sees it. They don't particularly like people bragging about first post.

OT: Pretty shit move on management there. The publicity alone would have brought a crowd.

To be fair, he's quite too sexy not to look at, so he would be rather distracting.

On a more serious note; that's bullshit.

Kay.

Like I said, it's the first time i've ever had the chance to do it, so I wasn't thinking. :p

The solution is easy. Wear a cup so no one can see the outline of his junk and turn off the lights when the theater goes dark. At the very least, they could hire they guy and his suit to draw people in. That theater is dumb.

Oh yeah, you gotta. I know we do it at my theatre. Well, not so much harry potter fans. We like when they come dressed up, adds a bit of joy and happiness to a midnight opening when you are there from 6 pm to 4 am. Its just all around good fun.

Twilighties are easier though. I cnat count how many of them I've pissed to the point of them leaving cause I said the books were garbage and the only ending that should be accepted was Edward being killed by Jacob, Jacob getting put down, or at least exiled (I dont the guy who plays him, he actually does some decent acting), and Bella realizing she's a lesbian and goes at it with Alice. And yes, I am quite proud of myself for it. Management does it too.

how ridiculously stupid the plot was.
it's about a guy sucked in into a videogame world and starts a revolution against another videogame character

not even Shakespeare can fix that

Seriously? You can say that the original Tron wasn't fucking stupid as all hell? Wow. The original was just three dudes doing some stupid fucking games and running away from so big bad computer program who looked like lines on a screen. And you wanna talk graphics? Jesus, I could puke better graphics than that.
I'm not saying the original Tron was perfect, but what I am saying is that it had some very memorable scenes. And for the time the special effects were state of the art. One really can't complain about CGI when it was in its infancy. I would love to see what you could do in 1982, I'm sure you could puke on the equipment, and I'm sure the director would be pissed off. Also, nice grammar, you are a credit to your race.

If I was the makers of the movie. I would have flown Tron guy out to the premier. Then MADE him watch it, in costume.

Free internet hype.

Well it's kind of like someone being naked in the dark theater. You can't really see it but I can understand where some people would feel a little weird sitting next to someone in basically pajamas like that. Also, afterwords, when the lights are up, you'll still have to see him. It wouldn't bother me, I'd probably think it's cool, but I can see where people find the discomfort.
I am actually more uncomfortable around people who are in spandex than naked. People who find Tron Guy amazing, which is most people, are the same people who don't care about what is showing in his suit.
Yeah. This is the point where I side with the Theater on this one. I'm all for fandom, and showing support for your favorite franchise, but there reaches a point where the intended audience would be... discouraged at the theater. See, the new Tron film is actually rather teen oriented - little harsh language, and the amount of Tron toys for kids makes me think Disney is doing its thing. Having a 40 something year old man in spandex come to the theater seems, to the outside observer, sketchy at best, and sexually devious at worst.

Sorry Tron Guy, but there's no stopping the fact that you're going to a kid's movie in a skintight body suit. One that lights up like a kid's toy. It's kinda forgone that anyone not familiar with Tron Guy is going to see the liability in letting him wear it.
