Russian Revolution would be pretty sweet, if so, would that mean the Communists are Templars?

If that's the case, maybe that's the jumping point of the Templars gaining more power.....?

I demand England.
And I demand underground steampunk socities.
And I demand that the hidden blade be made of three metal clock hands, all rotating out to meet a virtual 12 when deployed.
Epic. Win.

Call it 'Little Ben'... xD
That's great. I could imagine the conversation between the assassin and his target before a fight.

"Here's my blade. I call it Little Ben."
"You know Big Ben is the name of the bell right?"
"...Fine then, it tolls for you!"
You actually have just made my day.

Imagining this in a Victorian accent as well, just priceless.

I know i have already said this...but Queen Victoria as a Templar would also make this worthwhile...

Have Jack The Ripper as an Assassin. And the Targets he killed were Templars!
All he did was kill female prostitutes. Are you saying the Templars have a second revenue? XD
Hey you never know! xD

The Templars could easily have Secret Agents in disguise! They could find a way, hell they found a way for the Borgia Family to be evil! :p

Did I mention that my vote is for
VICTORIAN ENGLAND

Not just because Victorian times (as well as the whole steampunk genre) are absolutely criminally underused settings but also it could explain how Desmond got the surname "Miles," a name I found strange for Desmond, considering that his known ancestry is Italian and Syrian and Miles is a distinctly British surname. Also: Jack the Ripper, they could make an interesting character there, him either being some kind of Templar hitman, an Assassin, or even the protagonist.

Jack as one of the assassin targets would match with the sudden stop in Ripper murders!

JAPANJAPANJAPANJAPANJAPAN!!!!!!!

Ubisoft! Listen very carefully, you have the chance here to make THE GREATEST NINJA GAMER EVER MADE. Just like Rockstar has made the greatest western, you could singlehandedly reinvigorate the ninja genre with a single game and make it entirely popular again.

This is honestly the game I've been waiting for since I saw the potential in the first Assassin's Creed, so I reiterate; JAPANJAPANJAPANJAPANJAPAN!!!!!!!

All of them sound cool but I like the sound of japan, china or egypt the best. But I think the setting I'd most like (not on the list obv) would probably involve mayans, aztecs and the like in ancient mexico. Not sure how it would work but I can see a lot of potential there for weird artefacts and gory shit going down.
Also goddamn Aztecs. Yes!

All awesome, but from what I looked up, Medieval China starts in 220. 220 is around the start of the 3 Kingdoms Era in china. If that is the time period they mean that. I will just throw money at Ubisoft if they do. UBISOFT MAKE THIS DAMN IT. If not then make it either the Victorian England or Feudal Japan.

Don't think they'll bother with the Imperial Russia, since they used that for the one off comic, which, I must admit, was damned good (and actually perfectly plausible, what with the train accident being a possible assassination attempt).

Anyway, my vote is with... Medieval China, so long as they have a dialogue option in Mandarin! =P Why? The combat. If they do it right, hand-to-hand would be out of this world awesome! Also, unlike all the others in which you can just sit back and counter-attack, the combat style would promote aggression. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, if it happens, I will prepare to be disappointed... *grr* Still, it's a period that few games have really covered... if at all. Most go straight for the Romance...

Failing that, I've said it a lot, but the Napoleonic Wars, from the 3rd Coalition onwards, that way you can be present at Trafalgar to see Nelson die, be Wellington's rake and help kick the French out of Spain (yeah! be the artillerist who takes the shot that takes out Marmont - yes, yes, I know he didn't die, but whatever, it'd be fun - and be the one who does the interior decorating for Napoleon in his retirement!! Heehee!). Alternatively, return the game series to simpler roots (since in AC:B I didn't use a damned thing except my crossbow/hidden blades/smoke bombs... doi!) and go for Rome, during the Julius Caesar's final months (killing Pompey to force the Egyptians to piss him off... interesting thought), Phillippi, Actium etc. and ending on a cliffhanger when you find out Augustus is the biggest fucking Templar ever!

One era that no-one's really touched upon is Ancient Greece... though I'm struggling to think of a specific period when a load of guys got killed in suspicious circumstances... -_-

Personally, I can't really see it happening in Egypt, because they've got too much of the insane religious thing going, and only when you involve the Romans does there become any political infighting of note... (someone may want to enlighten me there...)

*The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt
YES. That would be awesome. Huge monuments to parkour over, the vibrant Nile delta to explore as well as ancient Egyptian tombs. A mighty empire is falling, why shouldn't the Assassin's have a role to play in it's demise?

*The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution
This would be neat as well. A chance to explore really cold climates as opposed to the Mediterranean.

*The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England
This would be acceptable as well. I feel it might not make as good of a change as Egypt or Russia. But it's passable.

Russia would be cool simply because I'd want to meet Ubisoft's take on Rasputin.

The man was shot, stabbed, beaten, and drown, and was still alive when he drown.

I'm personally incredibly torn between Egypt and Japan. I seem to recall reading somewhere that feudal Japan was a personal favorite of a number of people on the team so I've got my fingers crossed.

Words cannot express how much I want the next AC game to be based in Japan.
My heart beats faster at the mere thought of it.

South Africa, during the mid 1700s.
That way, it can drum up double-standardized controversy like Resident Evil 5, and I get to make more jokes about being 'politically correct'.

My first choice would be Victoria England with the Russian Revolution in second place.

btw,Is there a place to vote at or are these just what Ubisoft are considering?

Ancient Rome or Egypt, Et tu Brute? I really liked the setting of the original and those two seem more like a return to form.

Victorian England def.

You are Jack the Ripper (or work for him) and all those prostitutes that he killed were actually working for the Templars.

You know you want it :)
Watching Ubisoft try and come up with a believable plausible reason why killing a female templar, dissecting her in a pseudo sexual manner and removing her reproductive organs would be amusing. I think I would pass though.

Unless the ripper were a renegade assassin you had to trail and eliminate. Then the mutilated bodies could probably be akin to collectibles discovered throughout the story that leads to an optional fight. Sort of like tracking the face peeler in Arkham City.

Still morbid though.
