Don't think they'll bother with the Imperial Russia, since they used that for the one off comic, which, I must admit, was damned good (and actually perfectly plausible, what with the train accident being a possible assassination attempt).
Anyway, my vote is with... Medieval China, so long as they have a dialogue option in Mandarin! =P Why? The combat. If they do it right, hand-to-hand would be out of this world awesome! Also, unlike all the others in which you can just sit back and counter-attack, the combat style would promote aggression. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, if it happens, I will prepare to be disappointed... *grr* Still, it's a period that few games have really covered... if at all. Most go straight for the Romance...
Failing that, I've said it a lot, but the Napoleonic Wars, from the 3rd Coalition onwards, that way you can be present at Trafalgar to see Nelson die, be Wellington's rake and help kick the French out of Spain (yeah! be the artillerist who takes the shot that takes out Marmont - yes, yes, I know he didn't die, but whatever, it'd be fun - and be the one who does the interior decorating for Napoleon in his retirement!! Heehee!). Alternatively, return the game series to simpler roots (since in AC:B I didn't use a damned thing except my crossbow/hidden blades/smoke bombs... doi!) and go for Rome, during the Julius Caesar's final months (killing Pompey to force the Egyptians to piss him off... interesting thought), Phillippi, Actium etc. and ending on a cliffhanger when you find out Augustus is the biggest fucking Templar ever!
One era that no-one's really touched upon is Ancient Greece... though I'm struggling to think of a specific period when a load of guys got killed in suspicious circumstances... -_-
Personally, I can't really see it happening in Egypt, because they've got too much of the insane religious thing going, and only when you involve the Romans does there become any political infighting of note... (someone may want to enlighten me there...)
