Ubisoft ask's where the next Assassin's Creed should be set

I say fuck no to England and Feudal Japan.
Why? Because we have seen that stuff done to death in other places.

Umm, just how many games have you seen set in Victorian England during the advent of the British Empire? Because I'm not aware of many... if any. Japan sure, but England isn't featured in nearly enough games. Then again I'm English so I might be biased.

OT: To be honest I'm a little fatigued by AC games now and I haven't even managed to catch up with Revelations yet... I'll go with Victorian England or Egypt. I would like to say during Ceasar's reign in Rome but I've had enough of Rome and Italy in general now.

EDIT: Oh and if they go for Victorian England, Sherlock Holmes has to be the protagonist's equivelant of Ezio's Da Vinci. You know it makes sense. Wait, what do you mean Sherlock Holmes was a fictional character...?

The great thing about a game set in the British Empire is that the cities you can go to could be anywhere in the world. London would be available, certainly, but so could Mumbai, Cairo, Montreal, Singapore, Sydney, Jamaica, British-Controlled China, and lots of other exotic locales.

Although Ancient Egypt may provide opportunites for swan diving off pyramids...

That...wouldn't end well. You'd just ragdoll off the wider lower face. Slide down the side really fast, maybe.

I said this in another thread a while back, so I'll say it again. Wouldn't the Victorian Era be a cool setting for the next Assassin's Creed game? Maybe you could have that Jack the Ripper is an Assassin who went rogue and joined the Templars. He would make a kickass final boss.

That could be interesting, but I'd be wary as the Assassin's are supportive to communism (Lenin and his brother) and the commie Russia shouldn't be portrayed as the paradise on Earth. And Lenin was a damn murderer(Ukraine; invasion on Europe; hell, execution of whole Romanov family) as well as Stalin, so don't spout that "Lenin was the good guy" shit.

Pretty interesting, though again: I wouldn't pleasantly see Julius portrayed as a bad Templar. People loved him, after all.


How about renaissance/baroque Poland-Lithuania though? The reign of Sigismund III Vasa would be perfect for AC's storyline. We have an elected king (Templars rigged the election!), who's a devout Catholic (or so he says... Templar) his advisor is a jesuite Piotr(Peter) Skarga (Templar?!). Also, the 'rokosz' (legal rebellion against king in Commonwealth of Both Nations) - Assassin's try to seize power from king, of course - later portrayed by Templar's as greedy and self-centered people; taking Moscow - Assassin's may try to incite rebellion there...
Also, Poland-Lithuania is portrayed near to nowhere, but so is Russia.
