I know Wal-Mart only allows an exchange for the exact same game. One of my Co-workers mentioned something about some kind of federal law. I'm not sure what she meant or if that's even true. I have a feeling that we've not heard the last of this.CD-R said:Is it even possible to return your copy of PC Assasin's Creed 2? I figure a lot of people probably want to at this point.
Poor Ubisoft, keep telling yourselves that. Maybe the sheer power of your ineptitude will make it where no pirates exist, and this DRM is the best idea ever!OP said:The company also maintained that despite reports to the contrary, its hot new DRM system hasn't yet been cracked, adding, "We also confirm that, at this time, no valid cracked version of either Silent Hunter 5 or Assassin's Creed 2 are available."
The emulator used to ddos the servers accidentally brute forced the first hash check, pirates can now play the first 2-3 hours without problems. At this rate, we get chapters unlocked about once every week and have the full game in a month or two. And as long as we are slowly breaking the code, the dumbasses who bought the game despite the possibility of this happening get nothing.dochmbi said:Liar.dryg said:Bullshit, I'm playing cracked AC2 right now
EA still owns UbisoftNLS said:Wait, Electronic Arts?Antari said:More outright lies from Electronic Arts, I'm not shocked in the slightest. 95% 90% .... how is it everything is always over 90% ... never 82%, god forbid 74% .. it MUST BE 95% so we can feel important! Nevermind that is has absolutely no basis in reality.
I think Ubi Soft should perhaps take the hint that nobody likes their new DRM, or that they should perhaps consider Steam a viable option without anything extra added. ( I don't get why some publishers need extra DRM added on top of Steam?????)
They only own 19.9% of the company, not the whole thing.Antari said:EA still owns UbisoftNLS said:Wait, Electronic Arts?Antari said:More outright lies from Electronic Arts, I'm not shocked in the slightest. 95% 90% .... how is it everything is always over 90% ... never 82%, god forbid 74% .. it MUST BE 95% so we can feel important! If their goal is to piss of pirates, they are doing it right.Irridium said:If people are pissed off enough to attack your system, your doing it wrong.

I was poking around on the modernwarfail2.com website. One thing they suggested people do if they want there money back was to do a charge back. Keep in mind this only works if you paid with a credit or debit card.Woodsey said:Nope, because of piracy.CD-R said:Is it even possible to return your copy of PC Assasin's Creed 2?
OT:
1) Its plausible, but I don't believe their excuse. They're hardly going to admit its already gone wrong through any fault of their own, are they?
2) It doesn't matter what they count as 'small', its not good enough.

I hadn't heard they'd lost control of that much stock, then I'm mistaken. From my experience they treat customers the same way. I hate both companies.commasplice said:They only own 19.9% of the company, not the whole thing.Antari said:EA still owns UbisoftNLS said:snipAntari said:snip
