A half baked Tom Clancy MMO with restrictive DRM, I can see that happening.

Yes, DRMs exist and function as a piracy deterrent.

It may be intended as a piracy deterrent, but it does not function as such. Pirates have cracked pretty much every DRM publishers have thrown at them, making DRM completely useless at its intended feature. All it has left is inconveniencing paying customers, which is never a good thing to do.

Nothing. No piracy deterrents work. Pirates are going to pirate no matter what. Might as well not bother if the only thing they have only serves to discourage people from buying the game. People either don't buy the game and don't play it or they say "This DRM sucks, I'm going to pirate it so I don't have to deal with it." Yes that's right, the DRM that's supposed to stop piracy actually drives people to it because they get a better product that way. If that's not a sign that you're failing miserably, what is?

I don't know where the idea of AC: FTP online came from, but I certainly like it.

We can only dream (not to mention my PC is questionably adequate for an AC game, so it would have to be accessible through OnLive maybe, or be... browser-based)

Games that likely got cancelled:

Endwar 2 - Covertly announced WAAAY back in 2009, heard nothing since.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Haven't heard anything from this game, and seems to be stuck in development hell. They might also have realized that it just can't compete with CoD and Battlefield anymore.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Some of their dance series or other licensed series.

I'm pretty sure that GR:FS didn't get canceled due to it showing up at this year's [a href=http://games.ign.com/articles/108/1086456p1.html]E3[/a]

I still don't see Endwar 2, BG&E2 or the new Armored Core game one there....

If they canceled Beyond Good and Evil 2, I will be more pissed off than pretty much ever. Canceling a game people have wanted desperately for many, many years is the fastest way to lose a customer!
