Its been like this for years. I don't think company's "get" that you cannot stop a game or softwear from being cracked. The Political Gamer said:I just realized something; if DRM is in a game people will pirate it more to avoid the DRM. Then the game company say they need more DRM to counter it. In other words the only way for both sides to "win" is not to play. Hey look its Cold War mark II.
I have 6 consoles plugged into my TV (this includes the current 3), but Ubisoft is not going to get another dime from me on ANY platform I own. This is just wrong. The Rockerfly said:That's ridiculous, why? There's no online play so what's the point?
I guess it's probably to stop pirates but it's still ridiculous, a hope most PC gamers can find a console for Ubisoft games and they can see how much they fucked up
How about: fuck THAT noise.Starke said:I think I speak for everyone on the PC when I say: What the fuck.
agreed, this is one of the worst moves ever made in pc gaming history. Just makes you really sad how bad the companies are today. LISTEN TO THE FUCKING GAMERS FOR ONCE! at least bioware and valve are ok. FOR NOW. btw new avatar again? you change them like clothes.Furburt said:Right, that's it, I'm not buying it.
This isn't a boycott, I just don't need that kind of fucking hassle when I play. I'll go play a game that doesn't treat me like a potential criminal.
when they left the womb " oh theres a light over there... what is it? wait, where the fuck am i? oh well ill inconvenience people when i grow up."danpascooch said:Realize? lol, when is the last time Ubisoft "realized" anything?Pendragon9 said:This is funny. I give em a week before they realize how UTTERLY stupid this is.
I had a good chuckle when I read your post. I was envisioning a steam powered bicycle, and something about that struck me as amusing (although I'm assuming you were referring to a motorcycle).Phenakist said:Some people at Ubisoft really need to take a step back from whatever they're doing and actually look at it, I mean LOADS of thing SOUND good, I mean I can say "Water powered vehicles will save the world" but if I put water in my bike's fuel tank it WON'T WORK. Similar principal here

This kind of DRM is exactly what is killing PC gaming. Well, that and pirates. Wake up people! Why are they doing stuff like this? They are trying to protect their work from piracy!
*Gets off soapbox*
I won't be buying any Ubisoft games from now on. It's a shame too because I was thinking about picking up Assassin's Creed II, but I will not be doing so now.
Bad example. The Batman DRM actually caused problems with many copies, for instance with mine, and we had to wait for the 1.1 patch to fix it.McNinja said:Lol it's a good thing I got this for PS3 then.

Also, it's quite interesting how many people say they'd rather pirate the game than have to deal with the ridiculous DRM. It seems that Ubisoft is actually working against themselves.
You know what a company does when they get a letter?Flying-Emu said:Ever heard of a letter?Void(null) said:So you can support Ubisofts choice of DRM, approving its use in the future, and add to the Piracy Statistics further justifying more hurtful forms of DRM which target legitimate customers more than the Pirates?Flying-Emu said:Buy the box, pirate the game.
That seems like the most damaging solution in the long term.
I write those.
Send them to companies.
Oh, no, no. The pirates will still be able to play it. And people who crack the .exe.Pigeon_Grenade said:What About if they ever decide to shut those servers off, does that mean no one will be able to play that game anymore?
