50 characters and only 2 of them are black (with one or two, Akuma and C. Viper, being ambiguously brown) so I guess Capcom's a damn racist. I agree, Rocket Raccoon could've been switched with Ms. Marvel and I would've been fine with that. We need more uber-batshit-powerful females like Phoenix and less...Raccoons. Although I still love Rocket Raccoon, total badass there.

And yeah, dunno about MvC3 being broken and unbalanced, just X-factor. I hope that's been nerfed. It looked a bit like it was in the gameplay videos I've seen, but I'm still unsure.

Okay, "IF" capcom decided to make each character $3, you are looking at $36 for having ALL new characters. That is not including Jill and Shuma for another $3 each. So to my own eyes, $40 is at a discount price. So Capcom could charge you $60+ for an updated roster OR give you a repackage of the game for $40.

Are they money hungry..sure, but from this point of view we got a damn good deal considering the tweaks that will come with it.

I am starting to not care about this. They canceled Megaman Legends 3, which was something I really wanted to play. But hey who knows, I might still get it if I pay for half of it.

I'm really against Capcom right now. They treat their fans like sheep, forcing them to buy another version of a game, thereby making the original useless, just for some characters that could easily be sold as DLC. I don't care that there's some admitedly awesome characters, I'm not shelling my money for a game I already have because Capcom is too lazy/greedy for 5$ character downloads. Now if I want to kick ass with Nemesis or Ghost Rider, I have to also buy even more characters I don't care about, because God forbid I can actually buy characters seperately. Not only that, but now my MvC strategy guide I bought just to get better at the game might as well be a 40$ stack of looseleaf. AND since everyone will be buying the new version, I'll be faced with empty servers online, FORCING me to buy the damn game.

In summary, go straight to hell, Capcom and take your 40$ DLC with you. And to my fellow Escapists, don't be fooled by this obvious cash-grab and save your money for a product not spawned by greed.

$40 for 12 characters (as previously stated, all priced at $5 a pop. That's $60 ;]), 8 stages, a complete UI overhaul, online overall, and overall gameplay tweaks.

I assumed you'd much rather pay $60 for the characters, about $16 for the stages, and $15 for the gameplay update? $91-DLC? Sounds much better than a $40 disc. Fuck Capcom and their tricks!!!!!

While you think that's good take a look at their other DLC for MvC3. Do you see the costumes? like 1 for 5 characters. Do you think it's comparable to price costumes the same as a full character? 5 bucks for a character is overpriced. And it's stupid to do the math that way anyway. You can't make a price for a game out of it's components. That's just silly.

I never played MvC3, but I wanted to. That was the most insane video I've ever seen, so chances are I'm going to buy this version.

I hadn't even thought about that, but between several Asians, aliens and supernatural beings it hadn't struck me that the racial diversity could use a bit more work indeed.

Hmmm.. should of known this would happen but I liked the first one enough to drop some money on it and I'll just turn my game around in a month or two to help pay for this one at (what should be) 40 bucks. -shrug- I do hope they at least fix up a few other things like the multiplayer lobby.. and a few more nicer single players.

I held out on getting MvC3 and only gave it a rent because this was likely to happen so now I just might pick it up. I'll have to wait and see how much added content there will be besides characters. The repetitive arcade and barebones multiplayer mode in the old one was not satisfactory.

What?

Is there a reason they couldn't add those characters in the original game or wait a few months to finish it? I don't know about anybody else but I felt kind of hurt when I saw that MvC3 only had only a small number of characters compared to MvC2. But now they are adding 12 more, which is still less than MvC2 but it's reallly hard not to assume that they did as little work as possible to get our money out of it.

It really seemed in MvC2 that they tried to put in as many characters from both sides as possible but unless making the 38 characters released in the original MvC3 were much harder to make than the 56 in MvC2 I don't understand why they can justify making another game that adds 12 more characters and asks for another $40. (I'm certainly not going to buy it right away.) I may buy the new characters if they offer them as dlc but I'm definately not going to dish out another $40 to "complete" a game that should've already been finished as it is now.

Angry Joe is an idiot. Why would you say that the game is solid by rate the game low because of the lack of bonus features? Games are not a product of practicality, so judging them as such is completely illogical and down right offensive to those who make games.
