Game:

"Do you want to have sex?"

"No"

1000g!

This isnt going to work.. at all...
To be fair, it'll probably be a little more complex than that, you'd need to extract yourself from the situation or something like that. In fact, I can see the makings of an interesting, if pointless game here.

You get more points the more emphatically that you say no, and additional challenge modes will make the true propositions more subtle.

Easy Mode:

"Do you want to have sex?"

"No"

50g

Normal Mode:

"Would you like a drink?"

*Walks off*

250g

Hard Mode:

"Hi, I'm John"

*Hamstrings him with a broken bottle, ties him to a stake and burns him alive*

1000g!

Obviously a great first step is to stop them actually having under-age sex and while education of women is great, it's no use without also for some good old fashioned discipline.
I disagree with this. Discipline is a terrible thing to rely on, as it collapses as soon as whatever was imposing it disappears; this would require very strict monitoring and would not prevent what is almost always a secret affair.

What you should teach are ideals. While a rebellious person will almost certainly lose whatever 'discipline' may have been imposed on them as soon as they can avoid being caught, they will probably not stray from their ideals, and may even be willing to surrender supposed 'friends' if, as is sometimes the case, they were only nice because they wanted sex.

My parents have said that they'd support me, no matter what I do. They've never condemned the idea, and have instead simply explained the consequences to me. To this day, I've turned down every proposition, and even left my date in the middle of our school ball because he invited me under false pretenses.

TLDR: Discipline will not work without the sort of maintenance that will prevent sex from happening just by being in place anyway. Instead instill in them the ideals so that they will manage themselves. If we accept the premise that teenagers are rebellious, make them fight for the ideals you want them to live by, do not condemn it.

Ugh... what's really depressing about stuff like this is that they're not trying to teach girls to resist peer pressure altogether, just be prudes. There's nothing wrong with a girl having sex responsibly if she wants to, it's the responsible part that they aren't taught. Adults aren't even trying to teach their kids how to tell right from wrong, be rational, or make responsible choices, they just want to avoid the issue altogether. Solution? Tell the girls sex is evil, and now they want to mask that agenda as a video game. Sex isn't evil, peer pressure is. This simulation doesn't address drugs, or rumor-spreading, or targeted exclusion, or all those other things bitchy girls learn from their bitchy mothers. At least it's a tiny step up from mass media teaching girls to look for love by being a slut.

"Boo, videogames are evil!"

"Yay, videogames will save us!"

And when the STD/sex rates etc. don't go down, they will blame PacMan.
I believe PacMAn is more likely to be blamed for drug use, ie Popping pills.

I am 15 and think the idea is retarded, I don't go around shooting people because games like call of duty give me xp for it. So why would girls refuse sex on the same principle?
Also, I live in france and this isn't a massive problem (the very few girls who aren't virgins are criticised as whores more than the peer pressure pushing towards sex

Huh... well if it's actually made well, it could be good. About time we had something teaching teens not to give in to pressure instead of freely throwing out condoms and telling them to have fun. But if the game sucks, it'll do little good.
Why? Why not instead give them condoms AND educate them? Hmm? Is knowledge that bad? Also, damn, a news channel that I actually get getting cited on The Escapist (as my profile says, I'm from Central Florida). It's weird seeing a news channel that I've seen (sure, not for long, as it's Faux "News") being on here. See if you can find something from a better source. I can't seem to find anything on the others, just lots of murder and politics.
Oh, I never said they shouldn't be educated. They definitely should be. I only objected to the mentality that we should just hand out condoms and tell them to have a good time. It's hardly a way to teach responsible use of their newfound knowledge.
Well, we SHOULD at least hand out condoms and birth control pills, and teach safe sex and not abstinence.
I strongly disagree. I understand the necessity of safe sex, since those who become sexually active at a young age should know how to avoid teen pregnancy. However, abstinence is by far the preferable option. It's a matter of using self-control and responsibility in how you treat sex. It is (or rather should be) an important part of how humans interact, but it only has that status if it's not treated with the same reverence as scratching someone's back. Sex has been hugely devalued in modern culture, and it's caused a lot of problems. But all we do is encourage it.

Besides, what's more effective to avoid teen pregnancy: trying not to get pregnant while having sex, or avoiding sex until one is ready, or married?

Ah, this thread reminded me: Sono Hanabira OVA is out. Brb, downloading teenage-girls-having-sex anime.

I think I prefer the SonoHana games approach to this game's approach to safe sex: do it with another girl!

Wanna bet which games are more popular?

What an age we live in now where gaming can take over for that petty annoyance that some of us considered 'Parenting'.
Gaming now joins the red rover esque line of media and institutions that are taking the onus of raising children so that they don't become the cast of Jersey Shore, and which are failing miserably.

I like the idea behind this game. I havn't bothered to read all 300+comments but I'm sure some people here will go on some western matierialism tangent about how only the "ignorant" (ignorance being the go to disrediter of the left wing) say no to any and all sexuality, but considering that the basis of the game is not being pressured into something you don't want to do. Nothing wrong with that.

The game will almost certainly be shit though, but then again, when the state starts trying to raise children, what do you expect?

The next time I'm out I'll try that line on someone, I'm sure it'll turn out well.

So, we should close ourselves off? Sorry, I really feel that there's no "ready" and waiting until marriage is retarded, especially if it turn out that the sex is awful. Sex is an important part of a relationship, and doesn't need to be seen as "special" or secretive.
Close ourselves off? Since when is being sexually inactive equal to closing yourself off? From what, society? The only thing abstinence closes off to someone is sex, and it's a willing and beneficial thing. And you're really suggesting that there's no such thing as being "ready" for sex? Some things require a certain amount of maturity and other things to handle, and sex is absolutely one of those things.

As for waiting for marriage, yes, sex is an important part of the relationship (which is directly in opposition to your statement that sex isn't "special"), but the only way someone would be disappointed with sex in marriage is if they're used to people who are better at it. A couple that has no sexual experience will love their wedding night even though they are inexperienced, and will spend the rest of their marriage discovering new stuff and getting better. As a result, if anything, sexual experience makes it easier to be disappointed in marriage. Sorry, but the whole "what if your spouse sucks in bed" thing is utter crap.

Oh for fuck's sake.

I'm not even going to explain why I find this completely and retardedly wrong. I have a feeling I'd just be wasting my breath finger stamina.

And as for this, whatever happened to parents talking to their kids about sex, safe sex, and the magic word "no"?
I too noticed that right off the bat as well. And I agree with the doctor as well, why can't parents just frakking talk to their kids about this for the love of the gods?
Because that would require effort on the parent's side...

...Just joking though on all of that, it will be stupid to make a game that no one but strict parents will play.
..I'm not. >:D

But in all seriousness, this will flop straight up. Hard.
