A little follow-up:

Gun laws are stupid pretty much everywhere, and especially in the US, Australia, Switzerland and the like. It is perhaps not very surprising that these are the countries with the most gun-crimes per capita. Only the police, the military, and shooting galleries (those would have to have extra-tight security to prevent theft) should have access to firearms.

The war on smoking should stop right this instant.

Racism is a bad thing, but so is multiculturalism. There is no way to "cure" racism, it's in the human nature. And multiculturalism obviously doesn't work at all: just ask any Russian, Frenchman, or Englishman.

The children that actually DO have autism or Asperger's shouldn't be forced to attend the same schools as normal children, since it benefits absolutely no one. It depends what you mean by feminist, because most people these days (or at least the people around me) can only associate feminist with "ultra-feminist who hates any form of women depicted sexually in videogames/films/books etc and decides that censorship is the right method of combating perceived wrong doing."

By the strictest definition of feminist, I am also one. I support rights and equal wages for women.

That's just my point; it doesn't matter what type of feminist you are- you are going to get painted with the feminazi brush. Most people don't really wanna talk about it, they wanna ***** about stereotypical strawfeminists.

I don't usually reply to these "unpopular opinion threads" since by definion I'm not going to agree with what most people say here but as someone who was diagnosed with Asperger's aged ten, I need to clear up a misconception about the disorder. It's not impossible for Asperger's people to "learn any social skills", yes we find it difficult to read body language and understand what other people are thinking which makes it harder to learn social skills but it's definitely possible to make improvements, even if we'll never reach the standard of your average typical person. Since the beginning of my teenage years up until now, I have painstakingly first learned how not to insult people accidentally or seem weird, then learned how to make basic small talk, all by a conscious effort. Over the last year and a half since I went to university I've managed to make quite a few friends and a lot of this is down to what I learned about socialising in school, even if it was a pain at the time. I therefore disagree with your assessment that Asperger's people aren't benifitted by attending a regular school.

Thank you! What kills me is that they're not even true atheists. All their "Atheism" focuses on how much christians suck, not islam, judaism, buhdists, hindus or any other religion just the only one they likely know. It's horrible and annoying...

I dont hate Christainity. But neither do I hate Islam, Shinto, Judaism Buhdism, Hunduism and that sorta thing. . . I dont really actively hate any religion, I sometimes hate some of the people who follow said religions, but the religions are an ideal (If you are 'really' kind. I dont think its worth being called that in the end as it cant really be used politically to achieve success even theoretically) And I dont go around hating on Capitalism for the same reason. I can disagree with it, I can even hate capitalists. But I cant hate capitalism. Its pointless to do so as capitalism doesnt have feelings and as such it will neither insult nor help anyone (With the exception of those following the ideology maybe). And it will only serve to breed more hate.

Again, those who hate all religion are probably more worthy of being deemed Anti-Theists. The opposite of those spreading religion, they want to destroy religion. As such it is merely logical to hate it. I want to see religion gone aswell, however I think it is merely something that will come on its own as people get smarter. It is not something we should actively condemn, people have never succesfully been forced to adobt another ideology and or sexuality. So I find it utter pointless.

And no.. Im not trying to be cool and edgy by being an atheist. I simply dont believe in a religion. I honestly cant be bothered to, I dont see much reason to either. As such I ended up as an atheist by default. I started out without a religion and have yet to have anyone tell me why I should get one... Apart from some lunatics on the street but when the guy tried to force a book down my throat and insulted me when I left I merely took it and tossed it into a barrel-fire in a nearby alley. With him watching. No im not an anti-theist. But those guys seriously need to be reprimanded, blocking traffic and shit to push your ideals on others... Its not like I stand infront of the doors to a bus-stop holding a sign saying (GOD DOESNT EXIST!) So why should they have a sign saying (GOD HATES NONBELIEVERS!)

And yea, you read right. I didnt convert to Atheism, my parents were Christian but never took me to a church. I was taught religion in school but we started from Greek Mythology and worked out way up through Norse and then Christianity before going to other major religions of the world. I simply figured out that there was so many idea's of why we were here, they must obviously 'all' be wrong. In the end though if I had to choose it would either be Shinto or Roman Polytheism. Religions that mix stuff to be more politically correct is less likely to get anyone killed.

I don't understand your point. My comment wasn't directed at all people that don't believe in a god or higher power just the vocal ones that roll their eyes and scoff loudly every time someone talks about god, or takes to the internet with a fire in their belly to mock someones religion. My good brother for example. But you don't sound like such a person. I have no problem in people that believe in nothing, just when they do it with a vitriolic fervor that makes them more annoying then the Jehovahs witnesses.

I think until the African government sorts itself out, we need to stop giving them millions upon millions of pounds because hardly any of it is going towards starving and malnourished places with no clean water. I totally agree we should be helping them, but instead of raising all this money with things such as comic relief and giving it all to government, I'd rather go other there myself and make sure they're getting provided with clean water and other necessities.

I'm against both the death penalty and (generally) abortion. Both are common stances but rarely together people who are against one are usually for the other (which makes no goddamn sense to me).

As a police officer I am for the legalization of pot, mostly for economic reasons. I believe you should have a license to sell it and must have a commercially zoned building for it. My big issue with it is that you can only suspect someone of DUI with pot unless you get a blood test.
The opinion is very unpopular among law enforcement officials because they see the worst damage it can do. Sometimes I think of horrific incidents and switch my position for a few days.
I'd be a terrible politician.

I always enjoy reading your posts. It is both nice to hear a police officer's perspective, and you always seem to break the mold a little as well (so you manage to provide both the perspective of a police officer, and the reasoning for a good middle ground).

If you don't mind me asking though, why are you against abortion? I mean, I feel it is a bit ... crass, but I don't think it is immoral (provided it is done before the development of significant neural tissue, such that the fetus is able to be considered aware). So I suppose what I'm asking is, are you against it on moral grounds, such as believing a zygote to be worthy of human rights considerations, or is your opposition more from a view of social expectations, where you think that the issue isn't the abortions, but rather the underlying social causes of most of them (irresponsible sexual practices, for example).

A valid question. Firstly let me say it doesn?t make sense to me to be for killing humans but than having a problem with killing fetuses. It doesn?t make sense to me to be against killing humans then be but be a-okay with ending a fetus with little thought or concern.

My reasons specifically for being against abortion are a mixture of things. For starters I think making a variety of laws that say when it is and isn?t okay to do an abortion based on where it is developmentally only makes things more complicated. I?m okay with the idea of ?rape babies? (I hate that term) being aborted for the obvious reasons. The problem with that is if you have other reasons for abortion outlawed you?d have a lot of women crying rape or have to make some sort of mini trial to prove it. Both sound horrible.
Mostly it is as you said underlying social concerns. The overwhelming majority of women getting abortions are young, a minority, low income, or a drug user. (majority not all, don?t come out of the woodwork to tell me I?m wrong).
Education on safer sex practices needs to be the cornerstone of contraception not a medical procedure. The amount of people who believe myths about sex are ASTOUNDING. I have grad students who still think if you have sex in water you can?t get pregnant. I also know the psychological scarring an abortion leaves on people. It varies from woman to woman but putting a child up for adoption tends to have less of a lasting shame. That and nowadays finding someone to adopt is pretty easy there are agencies (usually catholic charities) that do nothing but help those situations.
A part of me does feel a zygote is alive and deserves to keep on going. That's more emotion ruling my decisions than science.
Maybe because of my last point, though the baby growing is completely a woman's health concern... a man is involved in the creation of it. Why doesn't he get any say?
When I was a teenager my girlfriend got pregnant she I told her if she really wants to I'll raise it myself and she doesn't have to do a thing, i won't bug her for money etc. She still got an abortion 5 months in... then the next day she called me on the phone and shot herself over her guilt.
Maybe all my other reasons are just a cover for my much more personal reason.
