Did it say "Press Start To Skip" in the top right-hand corner halfway through, or am I hallucinating in hope that this god-awful cut-scene could be over by the simple press of a button?

Man, I used to LOVE Looney Tunes.
Actually, Looney Tunes/Warner Bros. themselves were riffing on Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men.

I thought the person giving the rant right at the beginning was Maryke Hendrikse. Seriously, I thought Revy was in this game.

Looks like a weird game.. the name is funny to me as a Dutch guy - Nier means 'kidney' in Dutch. As in, the organ.

The video was great as (nearly) always :)

MY PIPE!!! Call for plumber to have a fight :)

Why do the little girls always survive in these apocalypses? Is that some sort of rule or what?

I've never got round to reading it. Worth it?

Oy...

It's considered Great American Literature, which often means it's depressing as hell, and Of Mice and Men fits squarely into that category. Read the summary on Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Of_Mice_and_Men] and decide for yourself.

The voice actor in the beginning sounded allot like revy from black lagoon.
And yet...this was really the same voice-actor who portrayed Sana Kurata, the main character of Kodocha (wiki/youtube it if you don't know).

I can see how this game was almost not "just another JRPG". I can see how much more this would suck if the protagonist was the girl's androgynous teenage brother instead of her dad - this opening scene has a much grittier, more believable vibe than other anime games. I'm sure it evaporates within a few minutes of play, but good effort, Japan!

Nothin' like a good four lines of senseless hatred against books to make your publisher logos feel interesting again. :D

By the way, Paul's right, 2049 WAS a crowded year in video game history. I mean, Miner 2049er, anyone?

LOL the "Book punch" line was my favorite in an unskippable in a while! Also the "dead but delicious" line sounds familiar, have you used it somewhere else, Graham? Like in an LRR or a Phailhaus or something?

I laughed out loud ("lol'ed," if you will) multiple times throughout that video. Problem is I'm at work, so my co-workers think I'm on something... Good job!
