i just download Borderlands (1), which was about 10 Gigs, and it took FUCKING FOUR HOURS. If I'm being reasonable, and do some simple mathematics... carry the one...

It'll come down to 20 hours of download. Activision can go fuck themselves; no game is worth that amount of space, especially a generic FPS Military shooter.

If this is going to be a consistent thing for the next generation, you can count me out; I'll just go and bury myself in my old, but still very good, games that I already own on Steam.

Captcha: what rhymes with center

Oooh, I love these. It doesn't even care if I'm right. *checks answers*
Box of cabbages it is.

EDIT: Damn it, I read a good one on another website. Can't take credit for this joke.

"CoD=Clutter of Disk, I presume?"

I bet it's the "responsive" water physics they added, it must take like a gazillion GBs to make that thing work... water physics...

Fifty gigs for a bland brown military shooter? I've modded the crap out of Morrowind and Oblivion and the two combined games plus all the mods I have don't even take half that! (about 23.6 gigs for the curious.)

I have a lot of mods. >.>;

What perplexes me is demanding Windows 7. This may be the first game I've seen that ran on 7 but not Vista. Since it's not a Microsoft power-play to force people to switch to 8, and Vista 64 runs DX11 just fine, doubly perplexing.

Fortunately, I'm not a CoD devotee, but maybe it's time I stopped putting off grabbing a couple of OEM copies of Windows 7 64 in case this is a sign of things to come...

Yet again the article name and its contents do not match. Call of Duty Ghosts system requirements would be nice and informative.

It will take me 4 and a half days at MAX speed to download that and use up half my download cap to do it. So you aren't doing to badly.
OT: The only people i can see benefit from this is Gamestop and any other retailer.

I actually do like CoD, and I'm still giving this a miss. I simply DO NOT have the HD space for this. At all. I can't afford a new HD, so the price of this game just shot up another 50$, effectively.

Capcha: fool's paradise, which is apparently the world these developers live in.

That's coming up to MMO size. Hell, that's bigger than older MMOs, what the fuck's using all that space?
The space is needed for that advanced fish AI endorsed shortly after the announcement of the game.

Dear fucking god, that is 1/3 of my god damn broadband data cap for ONE FUCKING GAME!

They really need to reign in this space bloat.
No, they need to be rid of data caps. THOSE are the real enemy.

Console gaming strikes again! Assuming you can play off the disc...
If you have to install it like GTA or Halo 4 multiplayer then that's a tad depressing.
Still, I'll be able to handle it either way.

my computer would only juuuust run that (not that i'm buying it) but holy hell that's a lot of space I've got a 3TB hard drive and that still takes up a lot of space. So glad i'm not buying it.

game comes out with higher spec requirements on pc . pc gamers complain. games comes out with low requirements pc fans complain that its a bad port.
Big game size =/= good port, case in point Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was a whopping 23.8 gigs but was a piss-poor port.

A jump in file size is to be expected, but when a similar dual generation game that is open world to boot (Assassins Creed 4) is only 30 gigs you can see why people are getting worried/annoyed.

I beg your pardon?

Call of Duty isn't going bloody open world is it?
Far cry 3 at least had a couple of islands.

Edit: Also, GTX 780 what the fuck. Isn't that pretty much a baby step down from the Titan?
What on eaaaarth. And this game is also on the PS360? You're having a bubbly.

an over-clocked 780 is identical to a titan, seeing as they're the same card with a few cores and some ram chips removed so yes, a baby step indeed!
but in all likely hood nvidia just made that recommendation purely to sell 780's as they're a tragedy in terms of price-performance and aren't selling too well in fact so much so, that you could go buy two 7970's get 6 free games AND then go buy a new hard-drive to install them on for the same price, so.. i can see the desperation to shift the things!

After seeing those requirements all i cna say is:

They many not realized, but 780 GTX ISNT EVEN FOR SALE in my country at all.

The space is only a problem for people with ancinet drives really though as everyone with PC that wants to play new games should have 1 TB HDD anyway by now. but it does seem to be the largest one yet and coming over the top of full Blueray movies.

erm, standard games have surpassed MMOS a while ago. average game is 8-16 GB now when hardly any MMO reaches 8 (except star trek)

Itsp robably going to be significantly downscaled for PS360, way beyond what minimum settings will be, because its kinda made for the next gen anyway.

All I can say, is get ready to shell out for higher bandwidth caps and 4TB hard drives.
Any at least half-decent ISP does not have bantwich caps for years now. Its all about speed comparisons now, and sadly many peopel still have that at level of "Extreme shit due to greedy ISP".

50 meg would only take a couple of minutes to download at the most. 50 gig a couple of hours.
If you have a decent internet, and are connected into a good enough router, or possibly the modem itself.
If I were to try and download this, it'd take at least a whole day for me.
Oh it be all day for me too :(
would be ~2 hours for me. with the cheapest internet plan available here. i feel sorry for you :(

Jesus! I have never had a game hit the 25GB mark! Hell the highest I have ever hit for a Steam Download is 20GB and that was Fear 1. Only because it forces you to download the two standalone Expansions with it. That is right STANDALONE. So you are basically forced to download the engine, all the models and textures and gameplay 3 times.

I refuse to believe this game needs 50Gb. I have seen other minimum requirements that say way more then the game actually uses. This will probably be the case here.
Either im dumb and my memory is crap or the FEAR1 stuff with standalones hardly came up to 10 GB for me.

Holy CRAP. 50 GB's?! This game better be as awesome as Crysis, Halo: CE, Fallout 3, Half Life 2, and Unreal Tournament COMBINED for that nonsense to fly.
