So with all this extra space COD is gonna take from our PCs will the SP campaign be longer than 3 hours now?

because you elected him when all he wanted to do was shout on tribune and then fade into obscurity with the support money he stole.

If you were putting off installing your new hard drive, now might be the time. The minimum specifications for the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts, posted by monthly voluntary survey [http://www.geforce.com/games-applications/pc-games/call-of-duty-ghosts/system-requirements], installing Call of Duty: Ghosts could require more than 10% of your total hard drive space...
That comparison might be moot considering those people who have only 500GB or less probably don't have the specs to play the game in the first place.

Also, even if I would get the game for free, I still wouldn't play it.
Very clearly a jab at Xbox One launching with 500 GB hard drive.

Also, Steam being required for 95% of games doesn't strike anyone else as questionable? This is the same community that throws a tantrum when any other DRM is tied to it after all.
WEll to be honest we throw a tantrum when any shitty DRM is introduced. Steam on the other hand have managed quite sucesfully bribe us.

50 megabytes?

What the hell are they doing?

Don't even get me started on bandwidth and download speeds.
50 meg would only take a couple of minutes to download at the most. 50 gig a couple of hours.
Boy I wish I had your internet. With mine...50gb would take about a month? If speeds are steady CONSTANTLY, then 3 days. But its never steady.
With mine... well let's just say I envy your internet.

I have physical PC games I can't currently play because they include a large mandatory download.
I promise you that your internet is faster than mine :p This game would take over 5 months non-stop for me.

OT: 50GB is way too big. And a 780? It must be the most unoptimised PC port ever. Considering that it's Activision, that's not too hard to believe.

How do you browse these forums. No, seriuosly, from 5 motnhd value i count that your internet is 4 KB/s, which is almost two times slower than a dialup. Loading a forum page like this should take you minutes. posting probably takes over a minute, by which point it would probably timeout. so you either overestimated the 5 months or your posting from a different device (like a mobile phone).

It's around 30KB/s. And I turn images off so pages load pretty fast :)

I was using The Witcher as a reference. It took me around 1.5 months to download 16GB.

At 30 KB/s it would be more like 20.2 days :p
And yeah without images with 30kb/s it should take a few seconds only so that works.

I think that's the largest game install I've ever heard of. Even SWTOR, Age of Conan and Secret World, the largest ones I've known first-hand, weren't higher than 35GB ish.

Also, how does a game that requires 50GB of space on PC, fit onto and run from a 9GB DVD on 360?

That's coming up to MMO size. Hell, that's bigger than older MMOs, what the fuck's using all that space?
Textures, Models and sound files most likely. That's what takes up the majority of space in most game installs. Maybe for once they'll have included really high quality textures and sound files, or maybe there's just a lot of them. Second one seems more likely to me.

haha... LOL

"recommended" to have a 780...
That I can only assume is because the game is optimised for AMD hardware since XBone and PS4 would probably be using the same build...

and 50 Gig?

wtf...

yep, not buying this one... Then again, it's CoD... I could play Black Ops 1 and probably have the same experience

How the hell do you make a game which takes up 50GB?! There is no excuse for a game taking up that much space. Good luck playing the game the same week as you buy it with a download that big.

Developers should be required to work on the assumption that everyone is using a 1Mbit network connection and size their games accordingly.

Surely it would be somewhat lower if they gave us the option of installing only one spoken language instead of 8 or 12.

Us Australian's are the third world nations when it comes to slow internet. Check out our 10mb/s down 1mb/s up max (if your lucky) in the gold coast (a fairly major city)
Really? you are gonna complain about those speeds? try dealing with 356 KB/s down if you cant afford anything good, or 3Mb/s down if you are willing to pay out the ass. And this isn't in the asscrack of nowhere, I live not that far from a very large city.

good to see im not the only one here in australia with a crappy connection. im wondering when they find there way to the present day instead sticking in the past.

im just wondering for the people who would buy the retail version, how many GB does it have to download before you can actually play it?

As someone who's avoided spunkgargleweewee since Battlefield 3, could someone enlighten me as to why this is a big pile of stinking shit, and Battlefield 4's 30GB requirement isn't?

This is essentially why I won't ever be a PC gamer. The demand of you to build a better PC is too high. It's like they think I'm made of this monies they keep talking about...

No, seriously. I barely run at 4 gigs of RAM. It suits my purposes just fine. Why should I have to dish out extra cash just to play your crap-tacular fish game? (COD. Fish. Get it?)

Again I get off topic.. While I have an interest in modding titles; I doubt I will ever be able to afford anything strong enough to run the games I'd like to mod.

I don't see the point of paying more money for a computer that MIGHT run a future title, and if it doesn't, I have to spend even MORE of my money on upgrades... Vicious circle is pretty vicious from my perspective. I prefer consoles anyway. The only real thing I have to worry about is memory space.

Because Battlefield is a huge game with huge maps and vehicles and 64 player MP, and because 30Gb games aren't that new, really. And also because 50>30.
